The mechanic is really quite lovely, although I find the "running out of controls" more tacked on than suiting the mechanic. Its a little clunky though with some offscreen spawning of the flowers, and the orbs randomly changing into fire to cause a quick end. This is quite an inspiring entry though! One thing to note, its not very clear that you can press and hold a key to grow.
I really like the look of this game, and I adore the cover image of the ivy growing out of the keyboard.
There is actually some really interesting strategy when you get multiple new buds spawning, since you don't control which one you start from next. I ended up waiting so that they would all align in relatively good directions before i started growing again. If one direction got out of hand, i could always do a short press to try and reset to control my direction better, but then i had one less key to use! I think that made for a pretty interesting balance of strategy, even if it was pretty much always worth it to me to lose a key to regain control.
Really liked it, well done!
This is a very pretty game. I love the art, but the resolution is inconsistent. I think keeping a game's art style and ratios consistent really makes it feel more coherent and together. Other than that, really original idea and cool art. Nice job!
This is a really neat little experience. It's kinda zen.
its a fun toy, not sure if its game but it was damn intriguing to play
It was meant to be a game but we totally forgot to add a score saving system allows you to withdraw and save your score when you are out of keys or whenever you like to. Also there were a climbing and clinging system at some point of the game but because of some later bug we had to remove it, that system was the reason there are more points outside the walls. With the addition of this two little elements it might have become a weird and addictive arcade game. But yeah, it is just a toy for now :)
Cool idea! but i got stuck somewhere and i couldn't move, and the game is a mashup of a lot of pixel art it doesn't look great, but any way the game is really fun.
Well, I haven't practised pixel art for quite a time and lost way more time than I should variating the procedural elements. I could't spare time to polish and improve the aesthetic as a whole. Should have gone for simple and minimalistic art style. And yes there are some two major bug one of them triggers if you force your self into a stone's corner that makes you stuck in there and another one triggers when you release a key at the end of key's filling animation that ends the game instantly. But also you can use that final bug as a score saver so it might be a feature
Don't worry about that! the game was very good, you just need to learn some more pixel art or art, maybe give yourself 1 month or 1 week to make pixel art, not for a game but just to learn. btw just saying you can chack my game and give me some feed back.
