Nice idea and the art looks nice ^^ I'm sorry you got the issue that made it a little harder but good job anyways ^^

The game is very beatifull and I really enjoyed playing it! I had the same issue with CTRL, but other then that had  no problems with your choice controls. The game fitted also the game very well.

Great work!

Thanks much for playing and taking the time to leave such good feedback! We really underestimated the number of people using compact keyboards and will definitely probably revisit the keyboard controls if we do anything further with this!

You should definitely continue with this project! It is very good.

I love the graphics! My only two issues were 1) I don't have a right CTRL on my keyboard, plugged in a different keyboard then it worked (not so bad), 2) After I passed the first checkpoint and died with the robot attached, the robot continued to be a child of the player which resulted in me having to restart because it kept moving with the player and I couldn't reach it anymore. Apart from that, very nice game and a lot of fun, a bit of fine tuning with the mechanics and this will be awesome! Great job!

Cool art, but the ziplines are stupid and 9/10 times I fall straight through them

Developer (1 edit)

lol. Fair! We actually had them working and then they broke in the build and we didn't have time to triage. They kind of wrecked our submission because I imagine everyone quits at the wires as they are. TBH if you made it up them 1/10 times you're some kind of god. Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!

Submitted

nah, made it up like 3 wires. But that sounds so sad (that they blocked the rest of the game) when it had such a good concept, and I would have liked to have seen more of it!

I really enjoyed how well this game stylized the junk on the backgrounds. The artwork is very unique! It took me a while to understand the controls, but the concept is pretty neat. Great job, congratulations on submitting!

The art is really neat, fit the theme perfectly! The gameplay feels really similar to my game, I also went with the "connect robots with different abilities" thing, but nowhere near as many abilities as you guys (funnily enough, we're both getting the same comments about control issues, so maybe this genre of game is just cursed to have crummy controls). Even with the bugs it's still a really intriguing concept, I'd love to see how the game improves with some refined movement and better audio mixing (the connecting sound almost blew my speakers out, lol).

Hope to see you guys in future jams, I'll definitely be watching your updates to get ideas to improve my own control scheme! (shameless, I know, but game development thrives on thievery XD)

Great visuals and presentation. Controls were a bit unwieldy. I would recommend adding a list of controls to the game page so people can reference all the controls in one place!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback! I've actually just followed your advice about listing the controls on the game page. Good call.

I didn't understand the controls of the game. I couldn't join with another robot and I the second hint was shown too fast for me to read. I was sadly stuck, because I couldn't make the first jump :-( It looks and sounds really cool though.

It's a pretty interesting idea !  The game is a bit rough on some edge, but it's still a very nice little game !

Developer

Agreed it's currently very rough but thanks for playing!
