With a bit of story and narrative I can see this really nailing the "joined together" theme. I did find myself at a loss, though, on how to prevent Buddy from being hurt, so I just speed ran through the level :).

Pretty straightforward puzzle, but I enjoyed it! I did think the camera movement was a bit too fast, but I'm used to really low sensitivity first-person games so it might just be me. I liked the atmosphere and aesthetic you created and I definitely felt an urgency to figure things out before my friend died. Good job!
I've been running around this game much longer than I'd like to admit, trying to figure out what the combination is. Maybe I'm missing some clue? I checked the fountain but I'm not sure what to do with the symbols on it - whether to read them clockwise or counter-clockwise and with which symbol to start >_<
Edit: I made life way more complicated than it had to be.
Does the order not matter?
Edit: oh God. I did massive overthinking. I thought I was supposed to notice the shield lying in the water and act like it was still in the empty place on the fountain and that there would be some clue as to with which symbol to start and that I'd then have to enter all 4 in the correct order.
Anyway, good job on the game! Would've loved to have more puzzles in there and I believe people already told you about the mouse sensitivity being a bit difficult to handle :)
Looks very nice. The only problematic thing I noticed is that buddy is always talking and first time I was waiting for him to say everything for a long time;) He could say something like "lets go";)
I am also not sure how buddy started burning on its own. I was playing and after some time he just died and I had to restart.
It would be nice if You could go further with it, like with acting as a shield for a buddy, with few more mechanics You could make a full small game from it, so good job;)
Finished in the first time :) nice work, was there some music i missed?
