Interesting concept, like the artstyle. Controls are kinda finicky, tho
Hi! I thought the game's concept was pretty interesting- what with having to juggle holding the balloon and getting to the objective. The first few levels could have focused on introducing each mechanic to the player one by one though. I think some fun levels could be made with these mechanics you've thought of!
I appreciate the originality that you have brought to the table. The concept is pretty unique. However, the overall game is not very fun to play. The resolution is a bit too small to be able to see without squinting, the controls are unintuitive and the difficulty curve is messed up. It's really tough for a beginner to just pick it up and play and the tutorial text doesn't help very much. For eg, I had to figure out myself that scrolling lengthens your arms and you can only grab on to a grass patch.
With that said, don't think that I commented to prove to you that your game is bad. Instead, I am trying to give honest feedback so that it might help you improve your games in the future. After all, that's what game jams are about, right?
In summary, the concept is unique but the execution and everything else is not very good. Have a nice day sir/madam :)
Thanks very much for the feedback. I definitely agree the controls+mechanics aren't well explained. I'll probably redo the levels after the game jam. It's better played fullscreened with alt+enter, but I'll implement window resizing next version as well. Thanks for playing :)
You're welcome :) And I wasn't aware that you could go full screen. I didn't find that information mentioned in the game.
How are you supposed to climb? I can't figure it out
Edit: Nevermind, figured it out soon after. It's a very interesting game.
There's one question you didn't answer, however. Who placed the saws in a cave? (just kidding)
This game is so cool. I love the art style, the puzzles, and the balance between skill and planning. This is definitely one of the harder games I've played in this jam, but unlike many others, I found it fun enough to complete. The controls were certainly not standard (I can't think of a standard control scheme for this game though), but once I got used to them, they were quite controllable.
Thought this was a troll submission at first from the title. But no, it's a serious game.
FUN - Puzzle games are not my cup of tea, but I thought the game was pleasant to play. Subtracting some points for confusing mechanics that aren't explained in game and are only explained on the game page.
ORIGINALITY - dzgrckzgbzdg does a great spin on the jam theme, and even though "two things connected by a chain or line" is pretty common, dzgrckzgbzdg uses it cleverly by making the "two things" and the "chain or line" work together to navigate the levels.
PRESENTATION - I adore this art style. It's unique, it works well, and overall it's just well-done. I'm a sucker for games that have unique art styles like this one.
this game is hard man
nice
I really like the idea of this game. Juggling balloons and stuff is pretty cool
Got here by the very intersting title and stayed because of the potential.
Couldn't make it past the first level, and it didn't help the shrink/grow mechaic wasn't explained in game (but I figured it out).
My time with the game was short, but surprisingly enjoyable. Will probably return to at least make it to level 2.
