Very nice job!

The visuals and music carried the entry. I didn't end up "feeling" the gameplay, since I could just speed-run past all the obstacles. The boss fight 'twist' does fit the jam theme, but I didn't find it otherwise compelling.

Hope to see you in GMTK again :)

Very nice visuals! Would suggest adding some kind of progression for the hero and for the boss in the first part so it would be easier/harder to play in the second depending on what you did

Developer(+1)

We do have that! But no visuals to denote it. Doh. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Some of the nicest art and music of the jam! Nicely done. However, after dying to the timer, I just decided to run through all the enemies with ease instead of fighting them, and I found during the bossfight the warrior didn't put up much of a fight

Developer(+1)

Wow, really?! Dang! We tried to make it *much* harder if you did that. I wonder if there's a bug, very well could be! Thanks for the compliments!

Wow amazing game with really good art style and instresting switching to a boss
Wish thiswould see more players

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that really means a lot to us!

This game is really fun to play, and I absolutely love the art GG! Also, thank you for letting us know that we should use Chrome instead of Firefox to play. I would have been disappointed if I couldn't experience this game!

I've gotten burned a bunch by the SharedBufferArray issue with games myself, so I always try to add that warning! Thank you for playing, your kind words are much needed this morning!

There's some nice music, and some really clean pixel art here! I'm not sure I quite got the gameplay; I quickly figured out that you could run past all the enemies, got to the boss room, and proceeded to eat myself. Perhaps if I'd intentionally got hurt as the hero, I'd have had an easier battle?

Developer(+1)

On the contrary - if you'd not skipped the enemies and picked up some pickups, it would have been a much easier fight, to the point that depending on how much you do with the lug-knight, you can get different patterns in the final fight! But yeah, it was a bit tough to pull everything together in a more cohesive way like we needed to do. Thanks for the comment!

I like the music and the art a lot. The boss fish looks cool :) I was kind of confused at what I was supposed to do as the warrior because with the timer it didn't seem like I had time to kill all the enemies (and it didn't seem like there was a reason why I should kill them). But still, cool polished game!

Developer(+1)

Yes, agreed - we didn't tie it together well! If you tried to skip everything and just go straight to the boss, the knight was *much* harder to beat, if not almost impossible. If you kill a moderate amount of things and pick up a number of potions, you have a mid-range knight and a different attack pattern that's easier, and then if you kill a lot of stuff and pick up a lot of potions, the knight is so bogged down with crap that he's relatively easy to just stun-lock in a corner and kill. :)

Was fun to play. I guess the switching to the boss is the interpretation of the theme? I was wondering how the game fits to the theme until I reached the boss! We had a similar idea of playing as a boss, so I liked it! Maybe would have been cool to play as mobs before getting slashed by a player and then you play as boss. But still good job on this!

Developer(+1)

Agreed! Of course, as soon as the jam ended, we had a similar idea (instead, you play the boss and grow it through the entire level, just pummeling lug-knights).

Cool game. I love the way that other fishes chasing you can be caught by hooks. In my opinion, the food meter goes down too fast (but that may be because I'm bad at the game). I think there could be more ways that the theme can be implemented into the game, such as switching from the fishermen and fish. Great job!

Developer

You're definitely right! It was a slight miss on our part, focusing on everything _but_ the theme. Good call out!

Submitted(+2)

It lacks the jam theme essence, but it has very cool art and music!

Submitted(+2)

Why do we only play as the monster in the final battle though ?

Developer(+1)

Because the theme was role reversal, so by playing the boss in the final battle, the role is reversed!

Submitted(+2)

Nice little game, but i don't see how it fits the theme?

Developer(+1)

I take it you didn't play it far enough to take on the role of the boss? :)
