How does your game fit the theme?
In this role-reversal parody of the fishing-minigame genera, you play as the fish, rather than the fisherman. Dumb minigames and all...

Hey guys this was a fun submission generally I did find maybe a bug where some of the hooks where above the height i could swim too? Or maybe that is just a good bait (hehe get it fishing joke)... Anyway overall i like the take and being a fish underwater was fun I would agree with Raptor in the sense that the QTE was maybe too easy so making that a little harder could add some more difficulty or maybe there are different types of bait and some give more hunger than others? I see a lot of potential for growth with this so keep it up and if you do develop it further after the jam reply to this and ill come play it! Also really like the way you achieved the underwater effect <3
Yeah the fish hooks are buggy. For some reason they weren't spawning correctly. In hindsight this is likely cause I didn't reset object origin...?
My original intention was to make it very difficult to see the hook/line, and actually have it where you needed to find the real food (worms, bugs, etc) while avoiding increasingly difficult to detect hooks. As you can see, the final version ended up a bit more simplistic :)
I love this. I saw the title and that it was a reverse fishing game and I knew I had to play it. Really fun, my only feedback would be that it's a little too easy. The window to fail on the worm QTE should be a bit wider as I found failing the hook was a lot harder than succeeding. Otherwise, fantastic experience.
Thanks for the feedback! Balancing a jam game is tricky. When my gf play-tested she actually failed to locate a single hook, and thus said it was too hard :)
Maybe swimming should have been easier, and quick-time event harder?
Not a bad idea, moving around the pond is something you want to be fairly easy to do whereas the hooks can be a more challenging mechanic because it also rewards you more. I think swimming around the pond was my favorite part and making it even easier to navigate or adding other neat navigation elements would only help that too.
our game had the same idea AND it was 3d too!! i like your take on it and the quick time events too
Thanks for playing! I'm discovering a whole little network of anti-fishing games. It's very enjoyable to see very unique take on the genera.
