How does your game fit the theme?
Instead of controlling the player and jumping when you need to, like in a regular runner game, you instead have to place/remove blocks to create a path for the player.

Nice game with a cool style! Lots of potential to develop different play strategies.
Thanks a lot man! π
Indeed, we're pretty curious to see which different playstyles are going to emerge from such a simple concept
The art work may seem simple but you have a beautiful classic-looking aesthetic going. Love the look and feel of what you've made - great job!!
Thanks a lot dude! π
With the tight timeframe, we've decided to focus on gameplay and have some simplistic art. Glad you liked it!
this is awesome! I had a lot of fun, there is never a dull moment. I realized that if I play perfectly I can remove blocks behind the player
Thanks a lot dude! π
Indeed I do the same! Always trying to save as many blocks as possible! The Game Designer Cyrille doesn't even draw lines. He just places blocks 1 by 1 because he wants to save up xDDD. I think our strategy is better tho!
super fun! This needs to be a full game. great job team
Thanks a lot mate! π
We're glad you enjoyed our game!
Good concept and solid execution. Some QOL life things like maybe a grid visualizer, or an indicator of where the block will be placed could be nice. I can definitely see this being expanded upon into a proper endless runner with powerups and such.
Thanks a lot dude! π
Indeed about the indicator of where the block will be placed, someone else also pointed out this potential improvement.
About possible expansions, 2 days was indeed a short period of time to come up with a lot of content, but this could definitely be expanded further into something better!
Cool!
Thanks! π
Really fun and creative game! I like the fact that you can do upgrades as well and I think coins should spawn more often because of it. I also really like how forgiving the player controller is with respect to jumping onto platforms and missing a block in between or something. Awesome stuff!
Thanks!!! We're glad you enjoyed our game! π
About the upgrades that was an important point for us. With an infinite runner game, the question of "why would the player come back" is important so, even with the short timeframe to make the game, we want to have something that can encourage the player to keep going!
For the player controller, it actually became more forgiving than we've initially expected it to be... but we left it this way because we thought it was more fun! π€
Interesting take on an endless runnner! I didn't realize that breaking blocks also granted you a block. I think the game would be a bit more interesting if you had less blocks to place, so you would have to prioritize between deleting the unnecessary path behind you vs building the path in front of you. Good job!
Thanks a lot mate! π
Hum, this isn't the first comment saying that the fact that deleting blocks take them back to your inventory was super clear at first so, if we ever work on that again I guess we'll need to address that issue with a better tutorial. π€
About your strategy tho, I do exactly the same xD. I delete blocks behind me because I want to give a big amount of blocks before hard times ahead.
Nice concept, I was able to score 126!! οΌοΌΎο½οΌΎοΌQuite fun.
Thanks! We're glad you had fun playing our game! π
... I was able to get 300 tho! πππ... but yeah, I'm the dev xD
it is first game when i realy fun and i am not thinking how play. Looks good easy for understanding but fun, maybe i need some line that I know at what height will the cube be built
We're really glad you had fun playing our game!
Ho the indicator to know where the blocks are going to be placed when you move the mouse is a good point!
nice work guys i like the concept. cool game
Thanks bro! π€£
Very fun game, loved the concept, didnt think i'd have as much fun as I did, good job!
Thanks a lot! π
We're glad you had a great time playing our game!
Cool, Fun, It gets a little repetitive, but a cool game anyway.
Thanks! We're glad you enjoyed it! π
Good game bro
Thanks a lot bro! π
That's insane (in a good way) and I loved the "skill tree" element so you can improve on your game as long as you get coins throughout the level. I guess my only "critique" would be letting the player know the jump was automatic, because I kept playing space some times until I understood how to play, but it could be mostly a "me" problem, tbh lol. Great work
Hey, we're glad you had a great time playing our game! π
For the jump part, the first block placed in front of the player was there to teach him that the character is going to jump on its own when seeing obstacles, but according to your feedback, the message didn't come across like that.
Hum... I guess we really do need a better tutorial π
gg
Thanks!
Super cool! Once I realized deleting blocks gave you more blocks, it became a fun loop of both trying to place boxes in front, and delete them from behind while still trying to avoid enemies and pick up stuff. Really great idea!
Two small bits of feedback:
First I would have some kind of screen at the beginning with instructions, and have it say that deleting blocks gives them back.
And two, when upgrading, I thought that each upgrade costed as many coins as the number above it was. The upgrade screen could be a bit more clear.
We're really glad you appreciate the idea! π
About the feedback:
Yup, the game deserves some kind of tutorial for the 1st run just to make sure you understand everything that is going on. π€
Sorry about that π . If we come back to this game later, we'll work on a better upgrade screen then!
Cool idea! I definitely thought I had the hang of it, then I realized there were finite blocks you could place...lol.
π€£
At the beginning, we had infinite blocks.
... but then Cyrille decided that having a finite number of blocks would make better decision-making, and he was right! I enjoy way more this version! Even cut off the path behind me to keep more blocks π
totally agree, it introduces a very interesting challenge!
its like what pixel gun 3d is to minecraft, but to geomatry dash, game is amazing, probarbly one of my favorites I've played this jam
Indeed, Geometry Dash really came to our mind while making this one!
Thanks a lot! We're really glad you had fun playing our game! π
good luck if you continue working on your game!
This is excellent. I could see this being a full out game. Really cool idea and great execution.
Thanks a lot mate! We were really worried at the beginning of the jam that we won't be able to pull it off but hopefully, according to your comment, it looks like we were able to do a decent job! π
