So cool! Loved the game as a child. I don't think you should remind the player to save the human. I really think you should change the objective into killing the player, it's simply way more natural and straightforward. Also having to move the camera with WASD felt totally unnecessary, might as well just center it on the player. Great job!
Kill the human is what most other "play as the enemy" style games do. For the jam I interpreted the theme as "accomplish the same objective but from a different perspective" which is why you still gotta save the agent. Thanks for the suggestion!
Fascinating concept!
Since I played this when I was kinda tired, I completely brain-farted originally, and misunderstood my goal (I thought that I was supposed to kill the player, since that seemed like the obvious goal as someone controlling zombies), but once I actually remembered what the intro said, I enjoyed the kind of "puzzle maze" aspect of leading the player via zombie breadcrumbs.
The visual setup is something that I found interesting, (seeing what the player saw, and the ability to see from the Zombie perspective), but while playing I didn't really see any point to that. I think that if you wanted to give that part some kind of use, then maybe things could be hidden under stuff, so that the First Person views would show you shortcuts / upgrades / collectables, while the Top Down view wouldn't be able to see them normally. That aside, I do think that the additional views are probably interesting for viewers to watch when someone else is playing; but if that's the only benefit then I would suggest making them not the default views.
Anyway, really cool idea, and I hope you do well in future updates or games!
Thank you! I get your point about the utility of the first person view. Will consider your suggestions. Watching your stream I realized I need to remind the player to save the human. Most people will instinctively try killing him :P
Creative idea! I noticed some bugs that would occur when I spawned a lot of zombies at once (maybe add a max zombie limit) and the restart game button after I won didn't work. However it was fun to play! Great game!
Thank you! The zombie limit is a great suggestion. Lotta bugs will be fixed when the GameJam is finished
I played House of the Dead at an arcade fairly recently so I knew I was gonna have a blast with this one, and I sure was right, it was ridiculously fun. Great execution of the theme and very creative in general!
Thank you very much! House of the Dead is such a good pick up and play arcade game, especially if the machine is well maintained.
Original and good concept
For the first bit, I thought I was supposed to kill the agent lol, I learned quickly
Good job on the game :)
These zombies are here to help! Thanks for playing!
I JUMPED!
Very cool and original game.
The split view works better than I would have expected.
Still playing!
Thank you! Hope you make it to the end!
Very cool idea! I feel like the zombies do no damage to the player though. I had him surrounded and he wouldn't die haha.
Haha yes the player doesn't die cuz I'd like people to make it to the end of the level.
