Short but to the point.
Now i know how it feels to be on the deciding side of things

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

Ha, pretty cute. More of an experience than a game, I'd say, but it's pretty funny :)

Developer

Oh definitely! We have plans to make a full game from the concept, but for the jam we thought we'd focus on the humor

Submitted(+1)

Pretty good for a gag game, love the spotlight just to dunk on the player harder lmao.

>Do the right thing, gets jailed
>Do the wrong thing, gets prison time

Sounds about right for the average [redacted] I mean Zabovians

Developer

Such is the life of a Zabovian sports judge : (

Haha this hit just the right spot, simple yet funny and creative thanks guys :)

Developer

Thanks!

I Love Papers, Please. Now I love Results, Please too. Awesome visuals and perfect vibe.

Stress that I had when I scoring my player for the first time, it was presented perfectly.

Im waiting for more <3

Developer

That's great to hear! Glad you enjoyed : D

Very Creative, It was fun to get as many endings I can, Glory to Zabovia!

Developer

Ay! Glory to Zabovia!

Submitted(+1)

I saw in one of the comments that there were ~8 possible endings and tried way too hard to find as many as possible. I got stuck after 4 and gave up though, because I got tired of sitting through the dives each time. (I was also bewildered the first few times because I thought there would be a way to move on, not realizing that no matter what you did, the game ended after 3 dives.) I loved the humor in each of the endings I did find and the use of sound was excellent! Also the comedy of your country's dive was some A+ work. Really puts the player in a tough spot xD

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah, we realized only after we had submitted that we should have added a skip option. We honestly didn't think people would replay the game which is silly in hindsight xD

I don't know which endings you got, but if you're willing to sit through the animations again here the solutions to get the different endings.

Main endings:
Rate Zabovia high/low

"Secret" Endings
Rate every diver highly
Rate every diver low
Rate every diver 6
Rating every diver 0
Rating your country 0 while rating the other countries
Break the game. This is an ending you should NEVER get, so if you see it, let us know exactly what you did to get it.

(Edit: Forgot to add the ending where you don't vote)

Submitted(+1)

Thank you for the guide! I went back and got the remaining ones I hadn't seen yet, and I'm very curious, is the All 6 ending a reference to anything?

Also the one where you don't give a score is incredible xD

Developer

The 6 ending is not a reference to anything, just weird inside joke for us : P

Love the concept and the brand of humor. Can imagine this being a pretty deep RPG with a more diverse series of competitions and variables like different athletes/random events to deal with. Some fun sound design as well. Hope you continue to flesh it out!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We want to flesh it out more and turn it from a quick small joke game into a BIG LONG joke game : P

Submitted(+1)

First game I've played with a great gameplay narrative, well done!

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

That was funny! Enjoy the references to papers, please! I wasn't sure what the goal was when rating the athletes.

Developer

Yeah sorry. We could have been more clear on that (and will definitely make it clear if we go further with the concept)

Submitted(+1)

Fun concept and I like the humor part of it. Great job keeping the player guessing. I had to replay it several times. :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! : D

Submitted(+1)

Hilarious! I loved the concept of having to pick your scores to make our country look good without arousing suspicion. The dive animation was actually awesome. And our country... man. I knew it would be a bad idea, i had to give it a 10, but i feel like any score would have been too high for that performance XD

Developer

Hey! That guy broke their neck for their country. A 10 is what they deserved xD

Submitted(+1)

I like this and could really see it being expanded to include other sports or the ability to bribe/injure the other judges/athletes. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! That's exactly what we hope to include if (hopefully when) we expand the game.

Submitted(+1)

This is a fun spin on that paper please genre, It'd be a lot of fun to see an expanded selection of other sports. I can only imagine trying to give a good rating to the javelin thrower who accidently impaled a camera man xD

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Oh my god! That's a great idea!
Mind if we use it when we expand the game?

Submitted(+1)

Please do! go right ahead and let me know when that happens!

Submitted(+1)

This is very much like Papers Please in presentation, the menu music is very clearly meant to sound like the Arstotzkan anthem, and the whole "Glory to Zabovia" is a reworked "Glory to Arstotzka".

I think the inspiration is a little on the nose, but still enjoyable. After rating the first two divers it would have been nice to be able to skip them on subsequent runs. The parallax effect on the clouds and such is a little strong and off-putting, but overall the neat presentation as well as unique take on this theme make this a solid entry.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We didn't add in a skip because we didn't expect people to play the game again (which is an oversight on our part due to the game having multiple endings : P).
The parallax was hard to get right so I see what you mean. As for the Papers Please stuff.... yeah : P

Submitted(+1)

Hahaha this is hilarious! Gives me papers please vibes and the animation is so good XD. Glory to Zabovia!
