How does your game fit the theme?
Scrap Attack is a falling block puzzle game re-imagined as a platformer. Escape the level not by clearing blocks (the typical player role in a falling block puzzle), but by catching, stacking, and defending them against relentless enemies.

Very unique game! I really like the concept.
I do think the gameplay can be a bit faster or have a some progression - maybe that the rate at which enemies and blocks spawn gradually increases?
Still! Fun to play and mess around with. Controls also feel quite nice to play with!
YYYYEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much satisfaction after beating the game!!!
I think it needs some more balancing and the controls need more polish, but there's a lot you could do with his great concept! (Which, by the way, was very well-executed and creative.)
Hope you had fun making it!
This is a lot of fun! There's some really interesting trade-offs during gameplay that I appreciated, like whether or not I was willing to sacrifice a block for some health - particularly when I felt I was getting close to the top and might be able to push through - and whether to prioritise getting a good time or build redundancy into my creation. Realised the last one after getting trapped on the wrong side for a brief time while a robot got to work breaking the opposite side - I definitely learned a lot from that experience!
The music is great, with a strong sci-fi feel that reminded me of the future levels from the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy :)
Quite fascinating for a solo game! The game feels small but complete. All the mechanics are in place and work well together. I would work a little more on player control and SFX for explosions or drops. In rest, good job.
Very polished and love the soundtrack.
pretty hard at the start but once i get used to it its pretty fun! hope to seee more polish in this!
Thanks for playing! The overall difficulty is definitely an area I will focus on revising if I continue to flesh it out. Appreciate the feedback :)
Polished game! Well done!
Thank you! Much appreciated :)
banger music and sweet art! the game itself is difficult, but not in a bad frustrating way. it took some getting used to the controls, but then getting rid of pesky robots wasn't too much of a problem. had to think a bit on how to build my way up too :) really enjoyed this
Thanks so much for checking it out! So glad you enjoyed it :)
Very cool idea, good job!
Thank you! Much appreciated :)
I just think the pace of the game is a little slow, I played a level for several minutes, then when I was almost at the end, the robot destroyed almost all my boxes, so I gave up lol, I didn't have the feeling of passing even the first stage :(
Definitely understand. There's only the one level right now, but the pacing and difficulty ramp are two main areas I would focus on if I continue to flesh it out. Appreciate the feedback :)
The bombs are really brutal destroying all my hard progress getting to the top! I found that I could throw my boxes up at the flying enemy but it was still really hard to hit them.
Thanks for playing! The overall difficulty is definitely an area I will focus on if I continue to flesh it out. Not sure if it was clear or not, but you can also defeat enemies and defuse bombs by shooting at them when you're not holding a block (blocks will also defuse bombs if you crush them with one) - apologies if those mechanics weren't made more obvious. Regardless, I greatly appreciate the time and the feedback :)
Very cute and well-made game. It's nice to see an idea fully fleshed out.
Thanks so much! Greatly appreciate the feedback :)
What a unique take on the gamejam theme! Loveee the artstyle of your game, suuper well done!
Thank you for checking it out! Really appreciate the feedback :)
Once I got the hang of it, it was great fun! The game concept is quite cool, it's split second decisions, whether I'll be in time to save my tower! Good job! :D
Thank you for playing! So glad you enjoyed it :)
Fun one, not as easy as it looks in the first place!
Well executed,well done :)
Thanks so much! The feedback is much appreciated :)
Cool music, I liked the audio!
Also, your approach about the "roles reversed" was interesting, haven't seen a similar entry.
I found it a bit hard at first because I didn't understood how to carry the boxes, but I got it after some trial and error. Building the stacks was fun! Nice work😀
edit: Nice thumbnail too!
Thanks so much! Will definitely focus on the block placement mechanics and the difficulty ramp if I continue to flesh it out. Greatly appreciate the feedback :)
Interesting take on the theme, fun to play and the gameplay is very well designed
Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated :)
I didn't get how to carry the box at first, I thought I would be squeezed by the box lol
I like the concept! clever twist, great work :)
Thanks for playing! It definitely needs some better onboarding for the block mechanics, so it's something I'll focus on if I continue to flesh it out further. Appreciate the feedback :)
I liked it a lot! It's extremely hard! GG! Only comment is I'd like to be able to pick up a block after it's on the floor. I liked it a lot.
Thanks so much! Will definitely focus on the block placement mechanics and the difficulty ramp if I continue to flesh it out. Appreciate the time and feedback :)
Be Me: Build a tower that reaches the heaven
Also Me: Cry when everything gets blown up D :
Fun game!
Thanks so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Super fun! I thought it started out really slow, but that really adds to the tension later on when you've got a nice tower going and you're just desparately waiting for the next block before that little robot ruins your nice tower. Great work!
Thanks so much for playing! Greatly appreciate the feedback :)
