Very cool! It's very fun to compare your game against my own implementation of a similar idea :)
I'm sure you're aware, but a few bugs we experienced:
- Possible to glitch through the rocks to get higher than intended
- In some positions it was possible to view the outside of the pond (including template assets!)
- The 'Options' menu is a black hole :)
My girlfriend played both your game and mine; she prefers your graphics, but my camera/control handling.
Nice job !
Neat idea, and I really like the art style! This is one of the best-looking 3D games I’ve seen this jam!
I really wish there was a way to invert the camera controls, as I was fully unable to wrap my mind around controlling the position of the camera instead of the look direction. Also, some of the hitboxes seemed a bit wonky.
Great job on Fiish!! The concept and execution of reversed roles here is very creative! Also I do enjoy the black outline on the fiish to make it appear more 2D, very well done on the visuals! I was a bit confused at first with the camera's controls and game over screen, but for only 48 hours the work is AWESOME! Also for a game with lots of mouse movement, it may be best to lock the cursor and hide it during gameplay since when I played it was going to my other monitors LOL.
I love the intense music when you latch onto a bait as it made the situation tense, and regarding how that is the main mechanic of the game, adding this flare was a great addition!
hmm feesh
Nice! I like the reverse fishing concept and you pull it off pretty well here. Not sure how I feel about the camera perspective, it had a neat little big planet vibe to it but it also made it hard to line up the hooks at some points. Still, a lot of good fun so nicely done!
First off great job on the art.. love all the detailed plants and lures. I'm very into it, nice job!
EEEYYYYYYOOOOOOOO this game was fun! It was a very simple concept and rushing around trying to find the bait AND having to catch it kept a smile on my face the whole time. I love the art style and environment, the fish is a very cute but stylish Fiish. The camera was the only thing that was difficult at first, and since it can escape the game window you can exit out of the game very easily. I'm assuming you go to the Game Over screen no matter what, since I only bit down on fake bait in one run, but if it isn't that then the win condition is unclear.
Also there's some raw ass tech where you can take bait from one line and your Fiish will be at another bait instantly, so you can chain baits! It was awesome, and it made the idea of having no negative penalty when biting down into fake bait way more impactful.
Really great job and I can't wait to see what you all do with this game!
Really cute! I liked the idea but the camera controls were confusing and the end screen says game over.
Really love the art though! Congrats!
The camera is a bit annoying, but the way of executing the idea is very good,
The art for this game was great! BUT the inverted mouse controls absolutely destroy me xD
Nice visuals, fun game!
Nice little game! I see you even took the time to make a trailer for it, I'm impressed haha! I love the environnement, it's really pretty and the colors look great. The fish looks a bit silly and thin but it's definitely a mood and I'm all for it lol! I was kinda lost at first with the reverse camera and the sensitive controls though. I like the ominous sfx when chomping on a bait, it adds tension! I didn't understand the Game Over screen though, I retried many times. I paid attention to not chomp on false baits and there wasn't any edible baits left at the end of the timer, but I still got a game over screen. Other than that, it's a really cute and pretty game!
Thank you for trying out the game, the feedback is much appreciated!! The fish was heavily inspired by the fish from the wii play fishing game, but since they're 2D we had to do a work around for the black outline because of the 3D aspect of our game and the time limit LOL which lead to this image being created:
We had the screen always end with the game over since the fish will, unfortunately, end up being fished eventually; We just didn't have enough time to create different end scenes or have the score displayed on the screen at the end of the game. We hope to get it in when we polish it after the rating period finishes!
Cool game. I think the best thing about it is how vibrant the pond looks for it being done in 2 days. I like the texture work and style the game goes for.
However, I think the camera is a little hard to get into and the mouse cursor is still on screen instead of being hidden away which throws me off.
Otherwise, it's a fun role-reversal twist that I haven't experienced yet in this Game Jam. Good work all!
oops we will hide the mouse cursor as soon as we can o7
when the rating period ends we plan on polishing the game with better camera controls, especially after everyone's feedback LOL
thanks for playing the game!
The concept and the presentation is great! The camera was really unwieldy though, if you have multiple monitors your cursor can even get off screen which makes moving even harder. Also the options menu is broken, I suppose you might have run out of time, which is understandable.
Overall great effort! This has a ton of potential.
Good !!!
Cool game, it looks pretty nice, though unfortunately I found the controls a bit difficult. Concept is interesting enough as well.
a very silly and fun game! made me really feel like a fish (being confused on what bait is correct and also being very panicky when getting reeled in). The reeling section jumpscared me LOL good job! my only criticism would be that to me, the controls are really sensitive, making it really hard to control.
The visuals in this game are a lot more than I expected. Great game!
Super cool!
