Neat concept! I really like the execution of the fighting against the hook mechanic, though it did take me a moment to realize I needed to stay in the red, not the green -- hah
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! In a lot of fishing mini games I've seen, the fisherman is trying to keep the fish in the green box so to me it made sense that as the fish you'd try to stay in the red.
I think it's a great concept, and quite funny that you're trying to move the goal to the red rather than the green.
Thanks! The idea of moving to the red instead of green came from reversing how fishing mini games work in some games like Stardew Valley.
under the sea...
Definitely a playable game :-) . I think struggling when you are hooked gets a bit too difficult too quickly. Some animations would make it more fun.
I agree it definitely ramps up a bit quickly, especially if you get a lot of points early. I plan to do more tuning and graphical updates post-jam to help address some of those issues and add polish! Thanks for playing!
really fun game idea i really enjoyed playing as the fish
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :D
Overall this is the second "reverse fishing" game I've played this jam. It does some things better than it, some worse, but it definitely has a more creative take on the whole "fighting the pull" thingy. I struggled a tiny bit at first to figure out what exactly was happening when I got pulled for the first time tho. Overall quite a relaxing and fun to play game for a short period of time.
Thanks for playing! I took a bit of a gamble with the struggle mechanic hoping it would communicate well enough to the player. I plan to do some more tuning and graphical additions post-jam that should help with some of that!
