What a unique concept! Love love LOVEEEE the art-style, really well done! :D
This is the truest "play as the villain" concept I've seen in the entire jam. It's easy to take a villainous trope and put a positive spin on it. Boldly this game doesn't do that, we are the villain, we are doing a bad thing.
Thanks so much for playing and thank you for the high praise!
I really love the concept here! The art is nice, and the game mechanisms help to bring the "backseat driving" theme to life!
I had a lot of trouble getting the hang of knowing whether the driver was going to do what I wanted or not, and I ran into a problem where no matter what I did, the driver kept turning right and driving into the trees- all part of the backseat driving experience I suppose ;)
Fun and silly game!
Hahahaha omg! That bug with the driver turning into the trees is not intentional. Must have been some error with the state resetting. Thank you for playing!
Really good idea for the theme, I like the fact the driver sometimes does not listen. Would be great if you added some sound in the future :)
Yes, that would be awesome! We didn't have time to do sound in the jam period but maybe post-results...
Good challenge
thanks for playing!!
Love the concept and the cover art looks amazing. I assume the fact that the driver sometimes ignores commands is part of the just being the passenger? Regardless, great job! EDIT: WHY IS THERE A BURGER ON THE DRIVING WHEEL IN THE SCREENSHOTS???
Thank you for playing! Yes, the driver unresponsiveness is supposed to be a feature. Originally we planned to have some kind of feedback indicator when the driver misunderstands you. The driver will fail to turn if you tell them to turn too late, and it becomes more difficult as rage level increases.
The burger is a secret! 🤫 🤫
Really Fun And Challenging Game! I Feel That Some Of The Times He Doesn't Listen To Me, Everything Else Is Fine And Nice!
Thank you! The driver is supposed to take a bit of time to process commands, and this delay gets worse as the rage level increases. Additionally, the driver will not turn if the command is given too late.
Really nice idea! For some reason it just doesn't feel responsive. In the start, the Speed Up command works but later, the turn right works only some times but most of the time it doesn't...
As I said, very cool idea!
Hello there, thank you for playing our game! We intended to have a UI speech bubble of the driver saying something like "you didn't tell me to turn early enough" or something like that. Unfortunately we couldn't do this due to time constraints. The driver will not turn if you tell them too late or too early.
Cool idea. The driving doesn't seem to work though. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Hi there! Thanks for playing! If you tell the driver to turn too late, he will fail to react in time, and will miss the turn.
Love the concept, hope you all flesh it out a bit more after the Jam!
Thank you!
cool idea, but for some reason, the responsiveness to the control is strange, maybe I don’t understand something
Thanks for playing! The delay is intentional. There was a scrapped feature where the driver would have dialogue bubbles, and the original intention was to have the driver say "hmm..." or something before actually performing the command.
