The game is pretty challenging. I liked the art and concept. I would prefer if I could move freely and also the machine sometimes didn't grab - (usually when I was at one side). After few tries I manage to get me and another ball into the claw. Nice game, remember to add music & sounds next time :)!

Thanks for the feedback!

Glad you liked the art & idea going on. I made the mistake of thinking claw machines retract whenever they hit something, so I've amended that in the upcoming version with it being height based; That should fix the not grabbing thing. Moving freely might be nicer, but I'll have to see how it could be balanced. I always end up running out of time when it comes to the audio side; I'm just too slow in these jams :/

Basically, a lot of it should be addressed in the more complete version. I'm just happy I got something out before the deadline this time :D

I like the stab at the claw machine physics! I noticed that you used Godot as the base engine, so I can relate with how challenging it can be to make it work the way you want - coming from a guy who also made a claw machine game in Godot for the jam (but missed the deadline ever so slightly). The mechanic of launching your character to avoid getting picked up is pretty interesting, and I'd love to see where you might take this in the future!

Yeah, it took me a whole day just to get the claw physics to cooperate with me heh. It's half-baked right now so I'm hoping to get in all the ideas I had in the next version (hopefully within a week).

Anyway, thanks for playing! I'll probably give your claw machine a try soon as well.

I wish I could have jumped about constantly, it was frustrating waiting for the claw to come to activate the power button

Developer

I agree with you there, having more opportunities to jump would be better if I find a good way to do it. Perhaps it can charge again once it's slow enough.

Thanks for trying it out!

Interesting concept. Not a whole lot too it though. It was actually harder to get caught by the claw than it was to avoid it. Also it definitely needs music or some sort of noise. Sound is just as essential as the art!

The claw stopping via contact made it really hard to grab most of the time (which I'm fixing using height in a new version), so losing was a real challenge lol. I ran out of time for the audio stuff, but I know just how important it can be to complement the art.

Thank you for playing!
