Really good concept, I love the way that you did the screen wrapping. Also, pretty well balanced. Maybe the ships could have turned little slower so you could utilize the screen wrapping better to get the advantage on them, but I do like how difficult the game is, very fun gameplay loop!
I think the concept is pretty good, but the level of chaos goes from 0 to 100 really quickly which makes it hard to tell what's going on. Good job though!
Great work - I do think it becomes difficult very quickly. For future updates you could introduce upgrades or some way to mix up the gameplay.
Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm playtesting with a static camera right now since I read your comment, and I really like the idea. I was trying to make the game look as close to the original retro Asteroids as possible. It makes the game drastically easier when you can see everything on the screen, maybe even too easy. With the size of the map being so huge it looks a lot less pretty to be zoomed out so much you can see it all, but since there have been comments about needing reduced difficulty / balancing, the tradeoff might be worth it. I think I'll add it as something like an "easy mode" after the jam is over.
I bit wonky; a bit more balancing on when a fail-state occurs would improve this. Otherwise, this is well done.
Cool concept! You should definitely try polishing it a bit more after the jam. Great job!
