A lot of charm to this game, and surprisingly deep! Great work, had a good time with it!

I like the unique art direction you took with the game, and also liked exploring more of the map, like finding the key in the cave. However,  I feel like the start of the game could be less grindy, as I just summited the small peak multiple times to get enough money to buy equipment. overall pretty nice game

Traditional artwork!! Some tips for your next jam if you keep using traditional artwork methods (colored pencils and stuff on paper). Try drawing things on different layer like making the clouds  on something else and the trees on another layer. That way, you can add animations and other elements to help create a more lively game. 

For your gameplay, this was a really cute idea. I think tweaking the dirt roads and giving the player a little bit of money to start with could help because I was only ever able to climb the smaller peak and the items I needed the most were too expensive to buy. Could be a really fun game though with some tweaks since its already enjoyable!
