Really cool game! Love the SuperHot inspiration! Nice work!

Really interesting concept with some very interesting ways to use the mechanics! I loved the design language overall and it feels like it would be a great speedrunning game. The orange platforms felt a little unfair if you didn't happen to make it in time but otherwise a great puzzle game!

Developer

Funny thing about the orange platforms: we've set them up so it makes you feel like you barely get through if you waste time (unless you waste too much time and then you don't get through), which makes it feel even better if you optimize your time and pass the obstacles with enough "time". A good example should be level 9 (Vanishing Act in case I'm mistaken of the number) where you can take a secret shortcut in the pit section, giving you a lot of time for the final laser gate.

Really cool game the only level I disliked was the falling dropper laser one because it didn't use any of the mechanics learnt and it was just not very fun and very laggy, but the rest of the game was super cool, very creative uses of the scale, the blue one confused me a lot because it felt a lot like the red one, the dynamic music when walking was so cool it felt very portal and obviously superhot, good game!

Yeah, there probably was a better way to explain the blue one, but the idea was that it is based on the world coordinates of the user, so it is more of a puzzle of how you position yourself relative to it.
Probably could have made the laser level a bit easier, but I actually updated it a few hours before the submission and made it too hard instead :(

@elf is really proud of the dynamic music since she composed it and implemented the script to play it for movement and falling :D

That was rly good. It basically made every single obstacle a mini puzzle. Execution is also very good, controls and movement is very fluid. Well done

Nice concept where you play as John Scale and influence the world just by moving in it.

Interesting take on the theme! Seemed a bit trivial at first (just move left-right until you get the required state), but you’ve explored and elevated the basic idea in quite non-trivial ways, that’s cool. The level with falling down a bunch of lasers felt a bit off: it’s very hard to see the route through the lasers, and once you see it, it’s just a matter of extremely precise falling down, which took me some 30 attempts or so. Oh, and this level really made my GPU burn :)

Anyways, congrats on your submission. I’d be happy if you tried my game as well: https://lisyarus.itch.io/color-fractory

Thanks for playing the game! We did take the approach of teaching the mechanic slowly and then showing some more interesting things we can do with them. Yeah, when levels have too many lasers, the GPU burns ;(. Given more time we probably would have tweaked the level design on it more. I actually did a pass over the level to make it a bit harder cause we got the feedback it was too easy from a few friends. But yeah, it is essentially just a matter of discovering the right route through the lasers.

Anyway, thanks for playing it and glad you enjoyed it! Will try your game as well when I get some time :)
