I love this take on the theme, using scales for movement is pretty wild!
As for the gameplay, it is hard to predict how much weight is needed for a jump, but then again it's pretty funny to see yourself getting catapulted across the entire level ^^
One thing that would definitely help make it less frustrating if a jump ends in some spikes however would be if the scales did not get reset completely when you die. That way you could experiment a lot more and simply adjust a scale that is a bit off.
Anyways good job making your first game! And as it is the first game jam for me too, I will shamelessly suggest you give my game a try as well ;)
Oh believe me, I wanted to have the scales keep their position. Making the whole drag and drop feature was way harder than anticipated for me, and it was just something I couldn't figure out (in retrospect, it doesn't seem that hard, but at the time of the jam I was just so drained that it seemed nightmarish)
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game despite its flaws! And I'm just about to check out your game as well!
This looks promising but I wasn't able to click on the scales like it says in the controls. Am I missing something?
Sorry, I just updated the description to clarify. You can only select them after they have been dragged off of the UI and onto the level. After clicking them, a menu should appear on the right with the different weight options. Hope this helps!
I was able to figure it out after that. Good puzzles!
I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it! This is my first ever game-jam and first ever game, so any compliment means a lot!
Really original. But i found it very hard to understand the weight mechanic.
Sorry, I just updated the description to clarify. I'm a first time jammer and first time game dev, so there was bound to be a few issues. I'm so glad you liked the concept though!
thats fine. its not easy to comunicate things to the player
