I simply love this game! I wanted my game to be pure 2d with extremely simple graphics but got no idea how to achieve it.
But this one. the poly outer line that only serves the art. the "transparent" BG with a comforting colour.
I've seen scaling with scrolling but this is the right way to do it.
Now it's in my collection. I need to check it before my next project.
( Is this your first game? Since I think the art and creativty really requires experience )
I've seen a few other games that utilized the scroll wheel to scale objects, so far this is the favorite that's been on my queue.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Scroll wheel definitely seems like the most intuitive control for zooming/scaling.
Great use of the theme. Loved the slip and slide level, it really felt good. Only improvement I would make would be the ball lifting mechanic for one of the levels. Overall well done!
Thanks, and glad you liked it! I think I know which level you're talking about, and I definitely agree we could improve on it. We'll probably post an update after the jam with improved controls and other improvements!
It takes ages to get only a bit to the right when you turn too small. That's so funny! Thanks for the entry!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The camera zooms in really smoothly with the scroll wheel! I got stuck on discovery tho i didnt know how to shrink fast enough
Thanks, we wanted to make it as smooth as possible. I don't think you need to shrink quickly for that one, just have to find the right spot :)
Really enjoyed the puzzler! Was not expecting the ability to shrink the ball and the camera to follow. Very polished feel and capture of the theme.
In terms of visuals, the ball felt outside the kind of "90s style" you got going on. Y'all had flat textures and the ball felt a little too detailed when compared to the environment. Also, recognize those standard Godot buttons :P
Regardless, good stuff!
Thanks! Yeah, we wanted to have the ball be kind of like the balls from Super Monkey Ball, which I can see does contrast a bit with the flat checker backgrounds. And yeah we didn't have time to make custom buttons, but will probably have that in the next update :)
