This game should have more ratings, it is one of the best games of the jam I have played, really creative even though short, the mechanics are really well thought and the gameplay feels really smooth. I would love to see this in the top 100
Very well done. This is one of the ideas I had for the jam that just didn't pan out.
Small critiques, but space being change instead of jump kept messing with my brain. I also wish the layout of the mech was just a litttle bit smaller. it got annoying when I needed to move a core 3 times to accomplish something. Still, very enjoyable and the pixel art is great.
Really fun concept. What's not to love about a salamander operating a mech?! Really fun to play and easy to switch between salamander and mech. Nice clear instructions too. Well done!
such a great game, really loved the mechanics, artstyle, and little hints abt what to use, for such a short time really good job
Really loved the look, a time mechanic on the inside would have been good to add to the tension, but overall a greate game with an amazing art style.
This is so good! Loved how the salamander segments were done in a Game Boy style. Music was also really well done. My only small nitpick is that there's no damping on the Y axis when you jump, like in other platformers, so the camera immediately follows you -- can get somewhat nauseating. Other than that, great job!
Greate art style! Everything is very clear, but the scale factor is a little shallow. The only feedback I can give is that the briefs break the fun a lot, as its un-skippable and it would be better to show, not tell. Still, great work for 4 days, and it would also fit well into the 2020 gmtk game jam!
thanks! and yeah, I'm completely aware of those issues. I wanted to add enemies that'd drain your health until you take them out from inside the mech, and the ability to get out of your mech and explore small areas like in Blaster Master, but unforuntately all that had to get cut since on the final day I just had the first level done. the briefing segments were a last-minute addition to make up for not having time to properly set up a story, give the character a personality, explain mechanics and objectives, etc.
An extremely unique concept! I think the inside of the mech could be a bit more straight forward and easier, but other than that it was an extremely fresh take on the platformer genera.
