How does your game fit the theme?
Mole Vault's clearest link to the theme, "Built to Scale" is the act of scaling a vertical mineshaft. We also played with the concept of scale by giving a small character a comically large implement that must be considered before every jump. The musically inclined may even find a scale or two in the soundtrack!

Seeing moles is a pleasant surprise, and with such a unique theme too. Good job coming up with something so creative!

Thanks for the play and the nice message! We're big fans of moles and plan on featuring them in many more games down the line, so stay tuned for those. I'll be sure to give your game a rate and comment before the voting period ends- I'm excited to see what it's all about!

Mole Vault offers a delightfully quirky twist on vertical platformers. You play as a pole-vaulting mole, bouncing through a treacherous mineshaft in pursuit of hidden treasures. The art style is charming, and the mole's sound effects are adorably fitting. The concept is both unique and entertaining, providing a fresh take on the 'built to scale' theme.

However, the game has room for improvement. The choppy animations make precise jumps challenging, especially for platforming noobs like me. While the core gameplay is engaging, the music doesn't quite match the whimsical nature of the game. I know this is subjective, but a more playful soundtrack could enhance the overall experience. Despite these minor setbacks, Mole Vault shows great promise a gave me a good laugh. With some refinement to the movement mechanics and audio, this underground adventure could truly shine as a standout indie platformer.

Thanks for taking the time to leave some constructive feedback! With more development time, I would have done some additional tuning to make the controls feel a bit less slippery, and I'd also probably adjust the jump animation speed like you suggested. As for the music, I personally think it fits the tone we were going for, but it's possible that taking a cutesier and less triumphant approach could have worked just as well- something to consider for next time.

I still had a lot of fun with the game and I think it is a pretty strong entry! :)

Funny, cute (esp. the intro and the drawing at the end!) and enjoyable! Also fun core mechanic.

Muy buen juego, una mecánica que no e visto en otro juego con una buena curva de dificultad y un buen arte

My favourite intro that I've seen from this jam! Very cute and just the right amount of challenge. The final jump was incredibly satisfying. Music was very cool, nice use of scales haha. Also appreciate making the mole absolutely humongous at the end.

Thanks for trying out our game and taking the time to comment! I'm glad the intro is as charming as we hoped it'd be, that was the element that our artist spent the longest creating. As for the challenge, it's so hard to know when making a game if the difficulty is right or if you're just really good at your own game. Our last game frustrated some people, so it's really nice to hear that you enjoyed your experience. Also, you're keen for noticing the musical scales in the soundtrack! Thanks again for all the kind words, I'll be sure to check out your project soon!

This was such a delight to play! I accidentally skipped the intro at first, so I restarted to see that absolutely adorable artwork! I really loved the pole mechanics, loved that I had to run for longer for the jump to be higher. Really nice level design. That final jump was tricky to get and I thought there'd be more after it, but was surprised by the light at the end of the tunnel. Lovely game, thank you for making it!

Thanks so much for the play and the nice feedback! I was a bit worried that the quirks of jumping with a pole would frustrate players, so it's great to hear that you had fun with it. And yes, Lexie (our team's artist) is extremely talented, and I'm very lucky to get to collaborate with her. I'm about to check out your game, so stay tuned for my thoughts on it!
