Nice work! It was pretty well polished, the cat was cute, and the wizard looked delightfully cursed 😂

I kind of felt like the wizard started out a little weak and it was hard to get kills, though it definitely started to feel a bit better after some upgrades

Really fun concept, was cool how the two characters worked together. The style of the game was very cool

Found a bug (I don't mind though)

The game is great btw!

This game makes me feel like I’m playing a Ben Levin animation.

Loved the style and the take on the theme. I felt bad making the wizard cry after dieing D:

Developer

I considered making him scream like a baby when you die but I couldn't find a fitting sound (found a "psycho cry" instead) lol

Thank you for playing!

Very cool game! I had lots of fun! The style is simple yet enjoyable and the music chosen really brings it all together.
There are some issues when it comes to gameplay: many items (stomp, aura, even fireballs) make Wizards immediate surroundings the safest place to be. Unfortunately controlling the camera is also the hardest when near the Wizard. Though maybe it's something of a trade off - easier place to navigate is also harder to survive in.

I will also post a video of my endgame, once (if) I get the video uploaded.

But still the game IS very enjoable to play! I probaby spent a couple of hours in it, and I don't regret it
Cheers!

Footage from the end of my playthrough (that's the end because I lost my ability to gain experience):

Things of note:
* sound effects of the cat (meow) and of picking up experience and hearts (ding, blop respectively) dissappeared suddenly while on lvl 36, don't know why, maybe I picked up too many exp at once;
* my magical owner steadily became more and more overbearing throughout the playtrough, now they wouldn't leave me be if they can help it. Their gained speed made it possible to make it seem as though I control the Mage themselves (could be seen at the start of the video, before I trapped them between two tomstones). I unfortunately don't remember what speed percentage they have;
* for the small price of losing my ability to progress I got a cool shiny trail ^_^ (could be seen after I trapped the Mage)
* near Wizard camera would do some funny things, I managed to flip it upside-down once (and only once, no matter how hard i tried);

Endgame stats (I had to go far away to die):

also the game stopped responding after I tried to get to the main menu, though it probably has more to do with my computer, than your game.

Overall I had lots of fun! Very well done, thank you for making this game!

Thank you so much for playing and for all the feedback! This is super useful! I knew of a few of these already but didn't discover them until it was too late. So funny that the XP follows you like a trail ahah.

So cool to hear that you ended up playing it for several hours, I  didn't expect anyone would..! I definitely will patch it up once the jam is over and maybe keep working on it beyond that. :- )

(Btw, I couldn't watch your video. I think it's set to private.

I could watch it on youtube right now, but not on local player though, try it again maybe

Great game!

I'm probably just bad at video games, but this game was super hard! I think your game has a lot of polish, the camera and cat both felt really good. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much Alec! Kinda glad you found it challenging cause I was worried it was too easy. Hope it wasn't too punishing

Good game, liked the inability to stop as added challenge. The sfx and atmosphere are also delightful, cute but weird. Challenge of herding the wizard is also a nice spin.

Developer

So great to hear, thank you for playing and for your comment! :- )

Very cute and fresh take on a familiar (pun intended) concept! It felt good and fun to be the beloved pet of a pretty odd wizard.

Heheh, thank you Hasse! :- ))

Great, thanks ahah :- )

Is it the wizard that is giant or the kitty that is tiny. Hmmmmmmmm.

The movement is a little bit distrubing considering the camera is centered to the BIG WIZARD, but it's a nice entry, pretty polished, some cool ideas out there. Good job !

Developer

Good question ahah

Thank you! :- )
