How does your game fit the theme?
The game fits the theme in two ways. First, you have to scale up and down the power of your various sub-systems to try and survive as long as possible. In addition, you have to deal with repairing holes in your panel whenever you take damage, so you are also dealing with a battle on two scales, both with your ship in space, and within the ship itself.

Didn't expect to see a shmup-lite at a jam, but nice!

Very fun and well-rounded game! Could see myself trying to grind a high score in this

Small thing though, I think I would prefer if I didn't have to hold down the left mouse to shoot, since I'm shooting permanently anyways - or is there a downside to that and I haven't noticed?

Thanks for trying it out!

There isn’t really a downside per se to constantly shooting, however you can potentially change your weapon type to the lowest setting (which can’t hurt any enemy),  in which case you probably wouldn’t want to be shooting at all and focusing just on moving and surviving the onslaught.

However, I don’t think we’d thought of it that way, especially since we were just basing it off our idea of existing arcade games, so thanks for the feedback!

Oh I didn't even realize that you could set the stuff on the lowest setting... good to know :)
