I like the custom art for the game! I’m not very sure what triggers the room to be cleared, or if I have to survive for sometime to pass. I think it would be good if the projectiles could be thrown in the direction of the mouse click rather than in front of the character. I managed to make it this far: image.png

I think some of the projectiles were a bit hard to dodge with the limited movement options.

Overall a game that is interesting to try and has potential to be explored and developed further. Good job!

Thank you! The difficulty is definitely too high and during design I kept upping health to combat this rather than addressing the issue (the projectiles being hard to doge and the fact you can only throw in front as you said) Thank you for giving it a go, my sister did majority of the art and is elated that people like it lol, thanks!

This was a quite fun game! My highest score was about 560k. I believe that the enemies were too difficult to shoot at! I realized that you were supposed to get to certain places to be able to shoot them, but then the elevator moved too quickly and I felt that in the end it was too risky to move away from it for long. Or, you know, maybe I just wasn’t as good as I should’ve been to play it, hahaha. Either way, it was fun!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! The difficulty is definitely not supposed to be that high but it ended up being more difficult than I intended, probably due to a lack of playtesting before release, which is another thing I will defo learn from, so thank you for the advice! Also, great to see your game in mark's stream XD

I totally get it! The very same thing happened to our game, hahahaha. Playtesting is key, and that’s something I also take from this jam.

And yeaaaah, thank you! I was so happy about the stream, hahahaha. I unfortunately couldn’t catch it while it was live because I was working ;_;

Developer(+1)

shame you couldn't catch it live :(. Good luck with next year's jam too if you do it i look forward to playing your next game

This took me a couple of goes to get to grips with, but that's the nature of jam games — it's really hard to make a good tutorial when the game mechanics aren't locked in until the last possible minute. Also part of it was getting confused by click-to-shoot without point-to-aim. But it was fun once I got into it though, and the presentation is really nice. I like how the gameplay suddenly switches from "avoid getting hit" mode to "get back to the elevator right now" mode without any actual mechanical changes.

Developer

thank you for the kind words! Tutorials are definitely something we probably should have included, and that as well as the point to aim thing are something that we will make sure are properly implemented in the next version of this game as well as the next jam we do. It's very helpful to recieve this advice and I appreciate you taking the time to play our game!

Actually I thougt i was the princess lol. And the fact that my knife can slice a fireball is really cool. Thanks for making this!

Developer (1 edit)

mhm that was a very intentional feature 💃. Wdym you thoight you were the Princess? I'm a lil bit slow lol. Thank you for the kind words though!

Interesting concept. I would recommend that the shooting should follow the direction of the mouse as you already have to shoot by left clicking. Music a bit loud but good choice because it helped to immerse yourself in the game.

Developer(+1)

That was a thought early on in development, however we opted for this version since the time was low and I couldn't figure how to code it lol. If we were all remake this game that's defiently something I would think about doing but it would mean the level deisgn changing a lot. Thank you for the feedback it really helps and means a lot :)

For 48 hours this game is amazing. I love the idea of the elevator and the art is pretty good. I wish the projectiles could be aimed upwards but maybe im just bad lol. Still really liked this aim good job.

Thanks so much! The game is definitely very difficult lol but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Aiming is defo something I'll think about adding in the next version! I'll play your game too in a lil bit thanks so much
