Hey, good job. I like the art style choice. As other people mentioned, I think it would win from having better controls. E.g. it could use the keyboard instead of the mouse. Well done.
Congratulations! My father would be proud of the size of my kingdom.
I like the concept a lot! The assets and visual style are nice, too!
I felt like the game could use some adjustment, though.
The first thing that came to mind for me was that as a tower defense, especially one where the narrative theme is "build a kingdom," the mechanic of placing towers is too messy. You end up with a pile of overlapping sprites that you probably failed to put where you wanted to in the first place.
That leads me into the player character movement. The game is relatively unforgiving in terms of how easily you can lose. That isn't necessarily bad in itself, but if you're going to do that, you need to at least empower the player with the ability to keep themselves alive through skill. I felt like the movement was extremely difficult, delayed, and didn't react the way I wanted it to most of the time. So when I lost my HP because I clicked 2 seconds ago and the character didn't go where I wanted it to, that's really frustrating!
I agree with some of the other commenters on enemy variety and scaling, too, but I feel like content just takes time, which you all likely didn't have in the jam. Overall, though, it is a good idea and submission; I could see myself playing a lot of it with some tweaks in the correct direction!
Thank you for playing! Yeah I agree with your points, I didn't have enough time to add everything I wanted :(
A bit of enemy power's scaling would have been perfect, but tower defence is a good idea!
Thank you! If I had more time I would have adjusted the enemy scaling
I liked the idea behind the tower defence. I think i needed an incentive to not place all my towers in the center then just stand there and let the game play itself
Really interesting spin on a tower defence! Wish there was a fast forward button for waves. I got 300 enemies in but wasn't sure if there would be a win state. Great work!
Thank you!!! There wasn't a win state sadly I wanted to make the game a lot harder as it went on but didn't have enough time to do what I wanted
Really fun gameplay loop, I was playing for some time and after I was finished I wished there was more. Great job and I hope you'lll develop this game further.
Best of luck
Cool idea with a bunch of potential for expansion. I like the visual and audio design. Overall a really fun game!
Thank you!!!!
Fun little game. I can see this concept being expanded as well. After a few upgraded towers though, I didn't see the need to place more or explore the map. I wonder if an incentive to keep expanding your area could be added.
Lovely art and music. The gameplay is fun at the start. Well done overall.
Thank you!!
Nice game! The assets make a very appealing scene
Love the presentation! I ended up just placing all my towers in the same place and standing in the middle :p
Fun little semi-tower defense game, enough to make me wish there were more tower types and more of an enemy variety! Aside from that and how the prince slides, I don't really have anything to say though. If you have the time, I'd also appreciate it if you took a look at my game : D
