How does your game fit the theme?
You have been scaled down to the atomic world, surrounded by relative sized atoms. A Waterbear has followed you, and consuming the surrounding atoms, is ever growing (scaling) in size as it chases you down. You build (scale) your own collection of atoms and compounds to run away as you work towards a higher overall time of survival.

I might be missing something, but I was never able to collect enough atoms to actually build anything.  They would trail too far from the player and just get destroyed by the water bear.  More feedback would certainly help clarify things.  I really like the atmosphere of the game.

Developer

Hey, their spawn and movement is random, so this could happen every once in a while. Thanks for the comment, and I appreciate you playing!

Developer (1 edit)

Note: Collecting atoms zooms the camera out, this also slows your player’s speed slightly. Using, or breaking off from the atom(s) reverses the effects.

When playing this on a Mac, I was zoomed in so much that I couldn’t see anything until I was right on top of it.

Of course, a Mac build is not a requirement for this game jam, so it won’t effect your rating.

Developer

Yeah, that was intentional. You are supposed to collect atoms to zoom the camera out. I should have noted that in the Controls menu. Thanks for playing!

Developer

If you don’t mind letting me know, what confused you? Nonetheless, thanks for playing!

This was very interesting. Although the art is rudimentary, I actually found it quite cool. And I think it's more interesting and unique than the other atom games. Like I actually see the atom types and electrons and stuff. And the compounds doing different things is so good. I actually had a similar idea, but ended up doing something completely different. Still, it s really nice to see where you took it. Great work!

Developer

I appreciate it, thank you. This was my first time doing pixel art, so I’m glad you found it cool!

Developer

Hello! Thanks for playing.
