The global mechanics work pretty well! The power-ups are interesting, and the score being calculated by the dices value make an interesting twist. It's a god thing by the way that this value is not random (for once!). It rewards risk taking efficiently.

I was surprised that the bonuses where permanents. I expected them to disappear after each round. it's also an interesting idea, making each game really different. But it creates also some balance issues when one player gets too much advantages or disadvantages. :)

Also small UX note: I like that the score is integrated within the game itself rather than a separate GUI! It's clever, and allow to easily know the score without losing focus on the game.

Overall it was a simple, but efficient take on Pong. Well done! :)

Cool little game!

I like the twist you puy on the classic pong game! But I feel like the dice mechanic that increase the points scored works only if each goal is scored quickly, otherwise all the goals will add 6 points, no matter the number of bounces of the dice. And there are also exploits that the other comments have already pointed out.

The powerups are fun, but maybe a bit too rare. And the paddle sometimes feels very slow.

It's great that you added both 2 player mode and player vs AI!

Good job :)

Ty for this feedback!

Cool idea to make a pong game with the theme. Gameplay is obviously fun, since it's pong. Powerups were cool too. I also really respect that you made both a 2 player and vs AI mode.

There was however an exploit that is kinda overpowerd. Basically since the value of the dice increases per hit, most times you score, you gain 6 points. Once you got a 13 point advantage, it's impossible to lose. If you let every dice into your goal without hitting the dice back, the opponent can't make more than 12 points and the game will end with you as the winner.

Overall though, nice game!

Yes, this is a problem that we plan to correct in the next version with the introduction of a power-up that removes the previous goal that was taken, as well as the one that allows you to add a random dice in the slots (so it can be a bonus as well as a malus).

We also thought of x2 effects etc. to vary the whole thing and to prevent this kind of system from happening so easily.

After we admit that when we discovered this function we had fun letting the other player score points directly and then trying to win (but it didn't always happen as planned!)

Thanks in any case to have played the game, the fb is very useful!

Actually it was my little brother who came home to do this jam and who did almost everything (I helped on the end and on the power-ups). The idea is obviously to invite him to come back and work on it to improve it later ! :)

I'll look into it, thanks for the feedback!

I always admire the different approaches to classical games concerning the theme. I think this game includes a bit too much uncontrollable randomness itself and does not reward the skillfulness of the player to a great degree. Although, with a few logical changes, this game can be a remarkable approach to a classic game!

Nice game! The paddles should probably move a bit faster though

I like your game mechanics with the dice rules! It lagged on my computer, but overall I like how you mixed the theme together!

Really fun Game! Just the UI is hard to handle i can´t see all of it and so i can´t exit the rules screen and have to reload the page.
