Nice, I found it fun and challenging.

At first I missed the "evade" part of the description and kept trying to defeat the enemies which made it feel dark soul-esk XD.

Developer

dark souls dice edition was my original goal but i found it far easier to evade the enemies

great game) I’ll play your game on the stream again. Please give my game a try if you have some time!

The game has some nice movement and art. Using dice feels very satisfying and your character moves pretty nice as well. Enemies being able to track you and jump is also really cool. The game is very, very hard though. The player should have a lot more HP, or opponents should also be 1-hittable. The art and music of this game is really nice though. Other than the difficulty, great game!

Developer

my friends and family all said it was too hard to beat, but i thought it was because they dont play games as much as i do. I didn't really have enough time either to implement an hp system, but i probably should've tried something a little more forgiving

This seems like it would be really fun if it wasn't nearly impossible to escape the vikings. Maybe in the future: give a health bar to the player, prevent the vikings from jumping or falling off ledges, and make it more obvious in-game what the dice do (maybe an icon next to each number)

Developer

i was going to add an icon text below the dice inventory ui, but i didn't have enough time to do so
i was also hoping people would read the controls, but the way game jams on itch io work makes it harder for people to read the instruction manual before playing

The game looks great and I personally think it controls well. The combat is just too hard. Being able to take more than one hit and adding knockback to the attack would do wonders for being able to deal with the baddies.

Developer

i was going to add knockback but i figured it would be too easy to spam click and stand still to defeat enemies. they are vikings (chunky, and output many power) after all!

The art and sounds are fantastic! Extraordinary well polished game. I had some problem dealing with first enemies

Controls, the idea and the music are great, but the initial difficulty is so high. I played around 5~8 mins and couldn't kill a single baddie.

Yeah me too!

The look of this is great, and I think the idea of the mechanics is a really cool idea. I personally found it a bit unwieldy to control, but maybe that would be less of an issue if you had some kind of hp where you could take a hit or two from the baddies without dying. Still great work!

the artstyle is really cute, though the controls are a bit too finicky for my taste.
