The art is very polished in this game! Good job!!

Very glad you posted a tutorial in one of the comments, I was very confused at the start :)

Once I got the hang of it, this is a very cute, unique take on the game theme! I love it. I think the controls needed to be improved slightly... being able to click on the things but not place them on the nori mat without pressing "enter" confused the heck out of me.

Cheers, good entry to the game jam and now I want sushi!

Artwork and music are fantastic! Controls and logic took a little bit of time to figure up, but once understood, it’s been a smooth sailing!

Nice art and gameplay loop, however, the controls were convoluted since I had to click and press Enter for it to work properly.

Besides that, a nice relaxing game!

Hey I appreciate the feedback! I agree about the controls and will fix it post-jam.

Very unique concept that goes fine with the theme, extremely fun and addictive gameplay. The soundtrack and pixel art is pretty dope and cute. Gameplay is fine and easy-going too. Amazing work!

I like the calming music and gameplay, really works as a relaxer!

Woww really like the art and amount of polishing. I want some sushi rolls haha

I love the art! I also very much appreciate the pun interpretation. Unfortunately, I, too, couldn't figure out how to get both the Nori and the rice on the mat. I could get the Nori on the map, but then clicking the rice replaced it.

Thank you! I've added some clarification on the game's itch page for now, but a tutorial segment is definitely in order.

Here's what I've added to the page for easy reference:

-Build sushi by placing nori first on the rolling mat

-Then add rice to the roll

-Look at the ticket to determine which ingredients to add

-Grab your ingredient, place it on the cutting board to dice.

-Take diced ingredients and add to your sushi roll

-When the roll is complete, grab the roll to roll it up!

-Place the roll on the plate, then ring the bell!

-Arrow keys to move the selected item

-Spacebar to grab or place a grabbed item

-TIP: Add diced ingredients in the order they show on the ticket! The top item should always be added first!

I see. Thank you!

Creative game, good artwork and pretty solid gameplay

What a charming art style! I love the creative interpretation of the theme, too. :)

I couldn't really figure out what to do, though. How do you start with nori and rice? Clicking one just replaces the other, and I could dice the ingredients, but couldn't seem to do anything with them...

Let me know what I'm missing, I want to play this!

thanks for the kind words! We definitely need to add some sort of tutorial/onboarding segment.

You assemble the sushi on the mat between the cutting board and the rice/nori. Each ingredient (starting with nori, then rice, etc. ) is selected and placed in order on the mat before moving it to the plate and ringing the bell.

Hope that makes more sense.
