Very fun, surprisingly immersive for a game that has older-style graphics.  The idea of dice as a weapon is really cool and makes this game addictive, I definitely played it for longer than I should have lol.

Woah! The mechanics and concept were really cool... Saving progress is a very nice touch! It's kind of difficult to hit the enemies sometimes, but excellent game, nonetheless!

First thing first: thank you for taking the time to make a step-by-step tutorial. It really helped to grasp all the mechanics of the game. The game was quite difficult to me, probably because I'm not extremely used to first person camera, but the fact that the overall gameplay is well polished made the experience worth my time and fun!

I like how you pay attention to details to make the game feel better. For example, I think that the colored dice are perfect to indicate the different weapons since they are well recognizable, and I would say the same thing for the big and easily readable numbers above the dice after rolling them. Good job!

Glad to hear the tutorial was helpful! I should have adjusted the pixelization of the floating dice numbers to help with clarity, but I'm happy that wasn't an issue for you. :)

fun little game. I played until my high score was 57, so I quite enjoyed it ;) Was funny to find out that you could actually use the spears to move, but didn't really work out for me.  Biggest complain by far would be, that the first person camera is quite bad for kiting enemies, and thats what kind of the thing you do the most. and I also didn't really pay attention to what the dice rolled. Mainly used spears and 1 spear is almost as good as 6

Ps: loved that game progess is saved between closing the game. So I could still find out my hight score for the comment :)

Developer

Yeah, the spears were more meant to be an attack you could pull out relatively quickly, so it's easy to not care about how it's being activated.

That's an impressive high score, though. Thanks for playing!

Hitting enemies was a little tricky, in contrast I had lots of fun attempting to climb up the towers. Overall, solid experience for a 48 hour jam, especially seeing how polished it was with all the sound effects, the shaking of the game over text etc...

I find it difficult to hit the enemies. My best score is 11 kills.

Even if throwing the dice directly at the eyeballs wasn't gonna kill them, I would at least have liked them to push them back a bit.

Developer(+1)

Oh man, you're right. I should've thought of that! Might need to tweak that after the jam.

It was satisfying killing enemies with the lightning ability and fun leaping in the air with the spears, one thing which was a bit annoying for me was that when you got hit, you'd go get knocked into the opposite direction which was fine but you'd keep going in that direction until you landed which resulted in a lot of off the maps knockbacks even though I was pretty much in the middle of the arena.

I think that's part of the cleverness though - i think it's like a smash bros like form of damage - the more hits you take, the farther the hits throw you. obviously the only way to die is getting thrown off, so i found this scheme to work really well.

Submitted

Yea I totally get it but I'm pretty sure even in smash bros you can still move yourself back onto the platforms whereas in here once you're in the knockback, you can't give any input to maybe try to land back on the land, if you know what I mean.

i agree with the others, the lightning ability was by far my favorite.

well done on this!

The game was pretty creative, changing abilities and activating them in a big group of enemies is fun
Nice work there!

But you get easily swarmed by enemies as the game goes on, so is more and more dificult to see the dice and activate them

Submitted(+1)

Wow that was nice! The lightning ability was very satisfying, when I managed to pull it off and zapp a lot of enemies at once
Didn't figure out what the yellow one does

Developer(+1)

The yellow dice are extras. Each up you pick up increases your total dice capacity.

On a good run, you can end up with 11 or 12 dice, and then the lightning attacks get really fun. :)

Ah thanks! Now it seems so obvious :D

The lighting attack was very fun to pull off, but I found the spear attack underwhelming. Definitely a fun take on using dice to attack.

28 kills! This one was wild, and pretty difficult to get away from the hoard of eyeball. Nice work!

I liked the art style, and the powers were fun! I wish it was a little easier to see dice values from far away. I also enjoyed the pun.

unique genre for a game jam, great work!

Wowzers, area, 3D! So cool!

This is a pretty darn unique take on the Jam's theme and really well executed.
