A couple of things. I really like the color palette you chose. Idk what else to say about that, i just like it.

The art itself is nice however the ground textures seemed a bit muddled to my eyes after playing for a while. Could just be me.

I like the different kind of items you can buy at the shop and I like having these sorts of choices. However on my run that beat the game I did like 7 rooms before the shop so I ended up being able to buy everything, which can throw the balance a little bit if you give the player everything they want.

I wish there was more sound effects for stuff like hitting enemies, walking, general idle of enemies or protag, but I understand that there were probably other priorities in these 9 days than sound design.

Other than that, great job! Hope you enjoyed developing the game :)

Like the unique style you chose. I agree with others, your cover photo is not reflecting how good your game is ( I may not be the best judge on cover pic tho :D )

Do add screenshots of the game, love the monotone environment, our player with the big sword = ✨✨✨✨.

Your cover photo does not do your game justice! I thought you did super good on graphics, especially the player’s run animation looked great and the enemies were also super solid.

Couple suggestions:

  • Make this an html game! Seems like it would be easy to just export for it (plenty of tutorials.) You’d get a lot more reviews if you did!
  • Add a sound effect for the swing and hit. Felt a little dead in the action.
  • Add a checkpoint feature of some sort or a way to gain health. Starting over to the menu felt a bit tasking instead of fun.

Overall, you did a really really good job on creating an attractive, well-made, and fun game that definitely needs more attention! Great job :)

I also wanted to make it an html game, but I had trouble when trying to export it. Godot kept saying that I hadn't installed the files required for exporting to html, and the docs didn't help either. I'll try doing it after the jam is over, along with your other suggestions.

Sorry if my english isn't that good.

I really enjoyed the game :) If you haven’t already, would you be able to try out our game and give it some feedback as well? We’d definitely value your opinion and love to see what we can do better on!

Oooh, this is really good!

The atmosphere and enemy design is great and the gameplay is solid! Final boss got stuck in a corner for me tho. :P

I really like the atmosphere of the game and the art + music. The controls felt nice too.

Somehow the hearts felt wrong, the “damaged” heart look like a “full” heart and vice versa. Probably because of the brighter color. Also the instructions in the first room are heard to see, I almost miss them, and I still don\t know what E does.

Sorry to heard you haven’t enough time. The game felt nice tho, I would like to see it completed. Thanks for the game.

Thanks! The E is for buying things at the shop, but I didn't know how to make it look like it was interacting or buying something. I might update the game in the future to make it more complete and fix a few bugs, such as the pathfinding breaking sometimes.
