Nice small crafting game! Solid UI work and I liked that you needed to figure out the position of the materials in the recipe. The humor was fun and the character art is great. :) Keep it up!
Cool idea and cool mechanic, but it gets a bit boring at some point. I reached the point where I have to get 6 stones to create one thing, and then create 5 of those things to create something else.. it was just too much! I would have loved to have something else that would make the game harder, like other people trying to get the resources, or something!
Congrats for your submission!
This is a very nice beginning of what could be a fun game. I do enjoy crafting! I did not get bored.
Great start!
I loved the narration and the ending, hahahaha. I took way too long to realize logs aren't planks, visually they look very much like one another, I was starting to think the game was broken when I couldn't make the axe. The last level required a lot of materials too, having to wander about to find stuff to mine while dropping your stuff in order to make room for more materials was unexpected. I think the game got hurt a little by not having any sound or music, the lack of music and visual appeal on the last level made exploring it a bit lacking, but figuring out the recipes was cool. Good job!
(Spoilers ahead) Sweet crafting mechanic with a good UI and visual language. The narration was amusing. Loved the moment when you had to drop something to continue, and when you had to leave something behind to pick it back up later. After finishing the game I started it back up to see if you could mine before level 3, and indeed you can. For example you can craft the pickaxe already in level 2. Some music and sound effects (e.g. upon successfully crafting) would be a welcome addition, and maybe some nonlinearity/branching in the story.
Hey nice work on this. I like the walking around and picking stuff up. I couldn't get past the axe though. I was missing some chill and relaxing music I think. Seems like a good "drink coffee in the morning and play this game sitting by a window with the clouds outside".
Nice work, I liked the idea of masking what the actual recipes were so you have to figure it out - though I got stuck on trying to make the axe (to the degree I wondered if the visual was wrong? But I could only find 2 rocks). Maybe hints after some time of the player not being able to craft the recipe could help.
The textures are kinda nice, the game definitely had some inspiration from Minecraft. I also like that the character has a cool idle animation. The crafting is very challenging, and I got stuck making an ax.
good work bud, looks great, couldn't craft an arrow, reply to help and I'll have another go.
Unlike Minecraft (which is a bit more relaxed), you have to match the items in exactly the same shape and angle of the picture shown. For example, the recipe for arrow is:
Where W = wood and S = stone
oh ok, thanks, i'll give it another try
