Love non Euclidean games or those that play with space. You did a good job at putting in little tutorial text so that there was an idea of what to do if you were unsure. I feel you could have played more with non jump-precision based progression (3D platforming where you can’t see your feet or anything makes jump based puzzle a pain, level 6 even with it’s checkpoints felt more annoying vs some sense of growing a skill or accomplishment). I do appreciate the ending! Even if I don’t drink milk.
One note on controls - it felt a bit weird how you could control the character, there was no inertia, so I missed a lot of jump instinctively trying to step pressing forward before landing on the platform. I also found (and made use of) the fact pressing shift even if already midair meant you would get a boost forward, which isn’t too intuitive.
I like the idea and it fits the theme.
My biggest pain point was the controls. Some of the platforming sections were just too hard. I get it, you don’t want to make something so simple that you can beat everything first time in 5 secs, but some of the jumps were just requiring too much precision. It’s especially hard with an FPS controller.
Another small thing is the length of the corridor. Because you’ll have to go through each level, it would be nice to have smaller corridors. That way, we don’t need to run a marathon playing the game ^^
Congrats for your submission!
I'm back, I booted up windows to play your game. I really liked your interpretation of the theme! The levels changing while you're not looking is a very interesting concept for puzzles and interesting level design and interactivity, kinda reminded me of Outer Wilds a little bit. I'm not so sure about the controls, the way how the character jumps the moment it touches the ground if you're holding space turned out to be a liability to me, especially during the moving platform segments and the lack of jump height control made those unintentional jumps even worse. I also felt like the jump was a bit unresponsive, each time I tried to sprint and jump off the edge of a platform the jump wouldn't register and I would just fall through, but that can be fixed with a coyote jump timer. The lack of sound effects and music was a little let down too, but I think the main mechanic of having the level change when you're not looking made up for it, that's a really cool foundation to build upon. Good job!
Very cool visual trickery in line with the theme, and good humor. I had issues with the responsiveness of the jump key, which was frustrating, but I'm glad I made it to the end.
Couldn't play the game, it wouldn't jump, it would just slightly shake the screen instead when I pressed spacebar. Maybe because I had to run it with wine, I'm on a Linux system.
Many of the parts of this game were awesome. I felt the game lacked a bit of polish in places however I really enjoyed the parts that made you stop and just think/experiment especially once you found out all the weird stuff that actually impacted the game!
I got sick watching Krystof play it so I'm just gonna base my rating off of Krystof's playthrough. I really liked the way you lead the player with snarky and self aware text. The world felt kinda "flat" and bizarrely colored, but you nailed the theme and the changing of the world. I wish I didn't get sick so I could play it. Nice work!
Very interesting. I played all the way until the end and really enjoyed the con you pulled!
There were a few things I would change, for starters, music. Secondly, it was hard to copntinue playing the game. I didn't feel interested enough to get to the end until I forced myself to continue playing. Don't get me wrong, they were good puzzles and I liked the storylinem maybe if there was music I would have paused after failing puzzles several times.
Overall, fantastic game! I really enjoyed the plot and the funny jokes, especially at the end.
Very challenging levels. Simplistic graphics, but it works! Nice puzzle components. Good job.
