Great game! I love the pixel art and the overall vibes of the game - the nice forest settings together with the music and the story make up a really cool experience. You really nailed the oldschool feeling - sometimes a little bit too much haha. The overall UX of the game is missing some visual feedback on the interaction specially the puzzles feel a little bit "stiff". For example the puzzle with the scale was confusing me since I expected the stones and hearts to be pick- and dropable.
I really fall in love with the art and the main menu / intro soundtrack - if you polish up the UX and the puzzles this could be a great foundation for a nice retro puzzle title. I had some great time playing it after all.
PS: Thanks for the awesome tipps and tricks on how to pimp up an itch.io game page Selina! :)
Really cool submission! The overall experience is nice, the game has a good length for a game jam and the different puzzles/mechanics are interesting.
Congrats for your entry!
I want to give 5 start for the graphics of the game page alone haha, nicely fit together! And love the title :) I liked the length of it, feels like a complete game with a variety of challenges. Only nit would be the scene with the hear balancing scales, some y-sort on how you walk on top felt a bit odd. Also thanks for forcing me to think in systems of equations haha good to put those mental maths back to use!
Multiple different puzzles, that's really cool! I really like the music too, but the sound effects felt a little odd sometimes, like when I was holding the stones it kept spamming the sound effect, not sure if it was intended. Going fullscreen didn't seem to work as I thought too, the screen just kinda got filled with trees instead of having the sprites actually become bigger. These puzzle/mini game compilation type of games can be super fun, I think your puzzles were really good there, simple and effective, although I think they could be a little bit harder but that's just me. Good job!
I love puzzle games, this one was pretty good.
Wow I loved this little game! The movement felt a little fast for solving puzzles, and the sound was kinda garbled (could just be my toaster of a pc), but it has a neat story and compelling characters. Awesome work!
I wish I could beat all the puzzles. Great game to play. Time seems to fly by and I love how you matched the music with pace of the game
Nice little puzzles, and the fast moving character keeps the pace up. Keeping a button pressed to hold something was a bit inconvenient, and to re-enter a gate you sometimes had to walk a bit further away from it first to trigger the gate again.
Nice gfx, easy controls, love the mechanics for opening the gates are different each time, well done.
