The idea of choosing your own path by choosing the camera pov is great! :) I enjoyed playing for a while but the hard jumping within the ego perspective was frustrating in the end, wished I could have walked left and right too.

If you polish up the controls and the platforming this would be a very fun game, the overall concept is very nice and has potential. Good job :)

I really like the concept and I think it fits the theme nicely. The only downside is the controls for me. In a game like this, the controls must be on point because it’s the main mechanic. I got the hang of it and manage to go pretty quickly but it would need a bit more forgiveness in some cases.

it’s lacking a bit of visuals and audio stuff but it’s a game jam so it’s ok.

One last point: I would have played more on the “your part of an experiment” thing. I like the dialogs for example, it would have been nice to have more stuff about how we’re doing as a player. For example at the end of each level, we could have a timer, a die count, a jump count, etc.. And the AI could rate us based on how we did.

Congrats for the submission!

Thanks for your comment. A die count and timer were planned and even half finished but due to exams and work I only had a day to work on the project and unfortunately couldn't finish them.

I also intentionally tried to make the controls not be the main mechanic of the game and focus more on the camera and block movement and therefore didn't realise the negative impact of no diagonal movement for some players

I didn't quite understand what was the link between the camera and what was being built on the bridge for us to step on, I would just move the camera and watch what was in front of me to judge if I could make the jumps or not. Not being able to move diagonally and not having jump height control was a bit odd when we were tasked to make those precision jumps, but luckily the jumps weren't super demanding, at least not enough to be frustrating in my opinion. Other than that, I like the aesthetic of the rooms and the dialogue, reminds me a lot of Portal. Good job!

Very cool mechanism with the camera. It took me a while to get into to the jumping, but once I started looking at the feet and jumping with a run-up I managed to make it to the end.

Big plus on all the setting controls from the start, and language selection! Though a setting for mouse sensitivity would be really nice. Also was thrown off not being able to press e.g. w and d at the same time to move diagonally, seems only one or the other works, which made precision jumping a bit hard. Very interesting concept with the camera movement to project landings from another scene, a nugget that could be played with more perhaps (though I did not get that far to really see how it plays out perhaps).

The main things I'd mention to improve this is be careful of your colors on fonts: sometimes the color would blend in (for me at least) with the text box and be very hard to read. Overall, I quite enjoyed this anyway and while I did have a lot of difficulty staying on the platforms as well, it's a great idea for a game and I hope to see it continue in the future.

Just btw a prompt doesnt show up and i cant change it now until after the jam but you must press E at the doors to open them

Interesting game concept. I found that it was hard to stay on those little planes, sometimes I would look at my feet and I was standing in mid air.. Also the camera rotation to align the blocks seemed to be almost just hit or miss on where it needed to be for the bridge to be passable. I really loved the music and the interface was nice. I was going to mention the music was too loud, but noticed you had an option to adjust the volume! great!! I also enjoyed the narration by ALIC3..
