I usually avoid jumping puzzles, but I liked this one! Well done!
You and I made very similar games, except yours is way better! Well done on your first jam :)
Thank you, but I wouldn't say way better. Your submission looks really good, it is much more polished than what I could achieve in the jam time.
I like the game whilst i'm not sure if it is working okay. Are these shadows supposed to work as platforms? I find myself stuck in the air when i jump on them, like they have a rectangle collider.
Anyway, nice idea and great entry for a first timer! :)
Hey, you are supposed to use either the "real" platform and its shadow projection to solve the levels. Is that what you mean?
There is an issue I'm aware where if you turn on the light while standing where the shadow will appear, you get stuck and can't move, but that is a bug I had no time to fix. You are 100% supposed to use them as platform!
Having played a somewhat simialr game I knew what to do right away and needless to say the game had me immersed from the get go, I second the previously mentioned opinion, this was awesome.
Thank you for the review! These two comments made my day :)
That was simply amazing. I really enjoyed it. It took me a while to get used to the multiple systems, but near the middle it clicked with me. In fact, on my second play through I practically flew through the game as I was used to the mechanics( that and I probably knew how to solve each level). I particularly enjoyed quickly switching light bulbs while jumping; managed to cheese a level with it. Music is great, the death sound effect was kind of out of place but it grew on me too.
Thank you for the kind words!
It really never crossed my mind that the death sound was out of place with the rest, but now that you said it I can't unhear it! Fixing that is at the top of my improvements list now :)
Yeah, that makes sense as I actually got used to it after playing for a while. You probably heard it dozens of times and it just sounds natural to you. Until pointed out that is. Reminds me of the Wilhelm scream :)
