I liked the story and the idea of escaping the maze.

Some music would have set the mood and created a more tense atmosphere. It would have benefited greatly. I did not see much use of the sprint since walking was almost too fast.

Overall, I liked the concept.

I like the concept. As others said, the atmosphere would benefit greatly from some sound. It is quite difficult to navigate, but I really like how you used notes as a mechanic to help the player find their way. Nice job :)

I was wondering where the key was and the moment I found it something suddenly zoomed through me and everything turned red, which did startle me. Luckily I did find the door again relatively quickly :D.

It seems some of the notes are duplicated though? I’m pretty sure I found some of the same notes in different locations.

I feel that some sound would make this game much scarier :P. If I heard something when the “thing” (whatever it was, it was too fast) zoomed by I would probably have actually jumped out of my chair!

We had a lot of ideas with audio but ran out of time before adding it.

We would have loved to give the atmosphere and monster a bit more to it with the audio.

I played for a while--I found the door, and then I found the key, and then I finally died, unable to find the door again. :(

I find it fascinating how easily I was able to see many of the same notes over and over, while the door room eluded me... the maze was really quite intricate, despite being rather small.

I'm not sure I understand what exactly the heartbeat mechanic is--I lasted for I believe at least ten or twenty minutes without dying, and I never pushed shift or space. I definitely had enough time to beat the game had I recalled the path to the door.

But I do like how detailed the maze is. It's also a small thing, but I kind of like that the player's rotation is separate from their movement direction. It might seem kind of weird to have to rotate to read notes, but it's also kind of a fun mechanic--it makes the game, in some sense, more immersive.

Man, I feel totally terrified playing this. I found one key, and quickly found the door, found a script read it, became even more terrified. But when tried to read other scripts it would work. I started going around in circle and got claustrophobic and had to quit. Cool vibe.

I noticed someone else found the door but no key, I did the exact opposite. The game has a  good atmosphere and is definitely kind of spooky. Maybe add  some markers so the maze is a little easier to get through. I like the notes and the way the story is told. Good job!

Pity I didnt see the monster that killed me, I thought it was a piece of floor I steped on! I couldnt hear any sound,  it would really enrich the game. One more point I want to make is that maybe i was relocating too fast for the monster to find me in a timely manner, what was a bit boring. I found a door, I can only believe there was a key somewhere to find.

From technical point of view:

- instruction on controls could be shared earlier. Before i reached them i  had to  figure out how to move forward

- light is perfect!

- corridors could be wider or player avatar smaller, unless difficulty to enter corridors was intended

- good idea you had to close the view at the end almost after the player is killed, it cause nice thrill and need to replay the game to see WHAT WAS THAT!

- notes could be more constructive. I know there is something after reading the first one but no next note gives me more than that.

- I enjoyed the graphics!

Thank you so much!

We had some issue with  sound and the AI of the monster that we were not able to smooth out before the end of the jam.

There is a key in there and you can escape! Which reveals a small change to the main menu once completed.

Thank you for the Review!
