First of all, good job for making a 3D game in a so few days :)

I liked adding upgrades to the vehicle. The UI and voice were also really nice touches. I think you could add more audio/sfx to improve the game feel.

Thanks for the game!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback.  I do agree that more sound effects would bring things to life.  I've got heaps of other ideas to add just ran out of time.  Glad you enjoyed it and took the time for comment/rating.

This is such a great game. It was a lot of fun. How did you do the voice effect?

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for the kind feedback.  I used festival (Linux CLI text-to-speech package), voice  cmu_us_slt_arctic_hts and a custom script I wrote takes pasted lines of text and outputs a wav file.   That wav was then combined with the original text into a custom godot "Resource" class for subtitles and audio.

that’s baller! I looked at festival a bit for my game too, but I didn’t end up using it. Cool game, I liked the controls.

Damn, all this by a solo developer? super impressive, meets the theme quite well too! Great work!

Developer

Thanks!  Yes, it was just me.   Thanks for the feedback and/or rating. :D

Quite impressive, handling was a little rough until got some parts and got used to it, fun to upgrade the vehicle. I would like if the rover kept the equipped modules rather than having to re equip when restarting a level.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it.  Yeah, I wanted to add the keep feature but ran out of time.  I think having a clear all button would be good as well.  So many ideas and so little time.   Thanks for the feedback

This 3D game is the game I played so far which really meet the theme of this game jam. New customization in a level which are less useful when entering the next level surely makes this game's "instruction" unreliable. Sadly, I can't rate this game because my game is not complete enough to submit, but this game is really good I must say.

Thank you very much for the feedback and kind words.  Just happy you enjoyed it.  I too was in a big rush at the end and barely made it, so feel your pain.  Here is to hoping we both can finish the next jam.  🙏

pretty cool concept, would like to see more choices that you can make based on play style rather than having one build that is optimal for each map. Also, I think it should lock your mouse when you aren't in the build area rather than making you hold right click to look around. I played your game using a trackpad and that wasn't the easiest thing to do.

Apart from that, rebindable controls would have been nice.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.  I did plan on having a more sandbox style gameplay for later levels, just ran out of time.  Will consider adding another camera method for next version.
