Really love the art-style and presentation of this game!  Running around and doing all the quests was fun!

I was able to recruit some other hunters, which was really nice and helped me take down the larger animals.  But the hunters often lagged behind the player.  At one point, one of the hunters went off screen and died, but I was able to "revive" them by running across them.

Overall, I enjoyed playing the game, and really liked your take on the theme!

Developer

Reviving tribemates is a bit of an unexpected consequence!
Hunters have different speeds (part of the procedural generation) so if they lag behind you need to go 'fetch' them (by going closer to them again).

Glad you enjoyed it though as it all started just as an experiment with the art style.

This is awesome. Love the art style, really strong take on the theme as well! I think I ran into a bug where the guy who followed me continuously went between a splat and a standing person? didn't detract from playability though. Great entry! :)

Developer

That's hilarious. Maybe it is the caveman version of the walking dead :-)

Good game! The art style and randomly generated map is cool. I wish the the guys that you recruit were a bit smarter and acted more independently of the player, since then they would be more useful when hunting. Also, I think I found a glitch where, if you hit escape when you're in the main menu, it will take you to the death screen, and if you go back to the main menu, you get 1000 points for some reason :)

Developer

I wish they were smarter too!
If anyone has some resources to point me to in how to develop some intelligence for units following you, I would really appreciate it.Implementing swarm theories seemed like overkill nor did I have the time to look at it.
For now, they just follow at a set distance and shoot once you have shot at something.
Pressing esc is also just a consequence of running out of time. A pause menu would have been a lot better rather than just killing of your person. At least you got some bonus points there (its a feature not a bug :-)

Thanks for replying! I wish I could give you some ideas for how to implement AI, but I myself am still trying to figure that out. Best of luck to you!

Like the style and the fact that the map is procedurally generated! Finished some quests but it was not quite clear if there is an ending? Also the sound was a bit annoying in the end. But otherwise great entry!

Developer

There isn't really an ending and the point is mainly to get a highscore. Maybe in the future, it would be nice to expand to more terrains and more advanced stuff with your tribe.

Took my a while to notice the charging cable attached to the Stone Boy!
Lovely aesthetic - didn't quite understand all the quests? Like how do I get fire?

Developer(+1)

Thank you.
There are fire pits distributed across the map. Just have to walk across one to pick up the fire.
I failed to mention it in the description but the map is procedurally generated. So each time you go in these locations will be different.

Ah, makes sense! Cool. I really want to get some proc gen going in a jam soon
