Game Description
DEMONIC BEINGS HAVE LAYED SIEGE TO THE UNDERGROUND CITY. ONE OF THE MANY TRAINS WAS SENT TO BREAK THROUGH...
How does your game tie into the theme?
The setting is in an underground cave, the monsters attacking the train were designed similarly to bats to keep them consistent with the theme. I chose a palette with neon colors in order to create a more distinct color variation in the dark cave.

screenshot looks nice.. but sadly this is windows-only. :(
What platform do you use? I don't have any experience with uploading anything other than windows but I can try uploading a different copy after the voting is over if you want to try it out
i'm on linux. but even an html5 / web export would do, and it would allow more people to try and rate your game.
(and this jam explicitly asks submissions to be accessible for all platforms, so you'd check that box, too! :))
Right, thanks for the input. I'll update it the same day the voting ends then (with a bug free version xD), I'd be happy if you checked it out then and told me if it worked as it should
Very nice! it was really fun! nice job!
Really cool concept! I liked the trains and the graphical style. This is a super hard game, though! I think I did 10 runs before I hit a single enemy. :-) As others have mentioned the accuracy of the weapons makes it tricky, but also the platforming is quite hard - climbing up the crane thing to get ammo was not easy. Anyway, overall, a very fun game!
Thank you for playing! the accuracy was my mistake, I forgot to set a custom offset for the cursor so the actual aim is top-right >_< I didn't notice there was a problem because I was too good at killing the enemies myself haha
I'll upload a new version that fixes the aim and a few more things after the Jam ends. The primary source for the style was the google dinosaur game, if you look it up I'm sure you'll see some resemblance.
Wow, really liked the game! Very nice!
Thank you! I hope you restarted the game a few times so you could see how the train changes for every new game
I died 5~6 times, I saw it! Hahaha! By the way, it was a nice detail to be able to enter the cabins.
Yeah I wanted the wagons to feel different from each other, I think the tinted windows worked well. The difficult part was to figure out how to make the crane spawn separately from the rest of the train so that there would always be a crane in the game but also not spawn any other cart where the crane was placed, and make the ammo boxes spawn depending on the train layout.
Cool idea!
At first, I had to adapt to the trajectory of the missiles, but then I brought down a couple of dozen bats.
Loved this submission, keep it up!
Thank you for playing! I just noticed while checking the game that I forgot to set the offset for the cursor image... It was supposed to have a non-exact trajectory but that amount was a mistake
The missiles have a concerning lack of accuracy, but there is some potential here.
Thanks for playing! Concerning the accuracy that was on purpose, more like flares or fireworks in design. It's a rigidbody so it's affected by gravity to give it a slightly curved path and I thought it was funny to use a central_impulse force to make it move because it made the rockets able to spiral out of control if it hits something. I was originally planning on having several varieties of rockets but I didn't have the time.
Visually, it's a cool effect. I'm sure it's good for something, but man it was frustrating to have that level of randomness with the aim. Having a few varieties of rockets would have been super cool, hopefully you can make use of that in a future jam. I'd even say that having enemies in a game fire rockets of this style might be great, as it would still be some threat to the player, but with a bit of randomness in their favor.
I just checked again and the problem was that I forgot to set a custom offset for the image I used... So that amount was a mistake
