Nice game  Idea!

But the player slides too much I guess.

Very interesting concept. I too had too much trouble with the first level. I feel part of this issue is the controls are too floaty for the precision needed. I kept finding I couldn't make the first jump because I hadn't accelerated enough and then I'd sometimes slip off the edge of it because the deceleration wasn't strong enough.

I also wonder if it might be better to have the mirror platforms be a different colour (red for mirror, orange for real) because I wasn't 100% sure at first if the 2nd mirror platform wasn't just the actually last platform being mirrored.

Maybe some of the precision issue could be mitigated by having the "invisible" platforms glow or hum when your character is touching them but that might take away from the concept of the game a bit too much.

Super cool idea!! Like others are saying, I found it to be a little too difficult to judge depth and ended up getting stuck on the 1st level, but thought the overall concept was pretty great. Very impressive that you did this all as a one-person team during your first GWJ! Congrats!

Generally a fun concept, but I think the combination of having the platforms be further to the left and right as well as up and down, with the first person perspective, kind of killed my personal enjoyment of it. It's extremely hard to judge depth using just the mirror, so I spent several minutes trying and failing to pin down the second to last platform of the first level, leading to a great amount of frustration.

I think if you want to keep the platforms as they are, the best solution would be to either include and option to swap to the mirror world perspective, or to play in third person. Possibly both, in fact.

Otherwise, fun idea, hope to see more at some point.

I will try my best to make is easy to tell the depth of the mirror when the jam is over  and there will be a tutorial soon aswell.

Can only agree with the others, really cool concept but very hard to control, definitly had my "damn thats a cool idea" moment though :)

Clever game, agree with other comments movement is a bit challenging, but the concept itself is interesting.

Developer

After the jam I will try to fix movement cause currently movement is linked to the mirrored player and not the player u play as so I need to fix that

I managed to beat the first level, but I couldn't get the second level to load. That was super challenging!! I liked the idea of using the mirror to see where the platforms were. I think the game would have really benefitted with a little bit of coyote time and perhaps a little bit of deceleration on landing. Nice job on your first entry!

Developer

it was made like that because I only made 1 level

It's a cool idea, and I like seeing the reflection of the player up close. :)

However for me I couldn't land those first couple of jumps (after trying for a good amount of time), it's a pretty tough first level, maybe a gentler introduction would help because I did want to see what other levels could be made with this mechanic. 👍

It's an interesting idea but the character slides around a lot

Developer

I'll fix that after the jam ends

original,

not super easy to deal with the depth on the mirror, it took me some time to beat the first level

unfortunately when i click on level 2 it brings me back to the title screen

the controls use wasd key, since i use a azerty keyboard i had to switch to english layout to play correctly, you can solve this by using physical key instead of key in your controls settings ;)

no audio :( but else the game have some potential, would like to play some other levels

Developer

this was made for a game jam so I didn't get time to finish/add those stuff in time and I made level 2 go back to main menu to shot that there was no more levels and I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
