The game in my opinion was really fun.  I played for a while and really liked the upgrades and art just it got boring quickly. I would like if maybe the enemies got faster over time or some challenge that makes the game harder over time to make it more interesting

Developer

Thank you for playing, and I'll surely add that if I keep working on the game!

It's actually a good game for a jam. And a start for a really good game. I already gave my whole feedback in the page itself so you already know it's 69/420.

Developer

Thank you for your time and your valuable feedback, it was 69/420!

Super fun game. Ended up playing for a really long time. Graphics were great. Loved the different upgrades. Great job!

Developer

Thanks, I'll make sure to add even more upgrades in the future, and I have some cool ideas for some. Thank you for playing!

Fun game. Runs very smoothly and I liked how the upgrading is randomized. As mentioned by others as well, it was fairly easy for me. But I can definitely see how with more enemies and bosses etc. it becomes more challenging. If this is not already the case: maybe make the enemies faster the longer you take to level up (and reset that on level up) so it is encouraged to pick up experience even more. Also it would be nice if there was a way to pause the game. (unless I missed that)

Developer

OOH I hadn't though of that, that's a very cool idea, I will surely do it, or something similar, or maybe different enemies do different things like one can shoot faster, and others move faster maybe. Thank you for the feedback, and hope you enjoyed the game!

Awesome game, friend. I like the use of multiple weapons and items that you can upgrade.  The art for the pilot, icons and the ship are also really cool.

Some cool games to look into to increase the immersion/experience of this game is those bullet-hell vertical style shooters or arcade games like the 1942 series.

Overall, this was a cool game! 8-)

Thank you very much for your feedback, and I hope you enjoyed the game!

I thought about using bullet-hell patterns for bosses, but i'm still on the fence about using it on normal enemies, since you will be moving around, collecting experience and dodging enemy shots, it could make the game chaotic, I'll have to test those out later.  And thank you for the recommendations, I will surely check them out!

Cool small game, fun to play.

My only suggestion would be to shoot automatically instead of basically holding the space all the time. Other than that, as I said, really solid submission. :D

Developer

Thank you for checking the game page, and for the feedback, I hope you enjoyed the game.

Yeah, I had actually planned to add an upgrade that decreased the overall delay of firing all your weapons, and I planned to make the last level of that upgrade to be an auto-fire. That or put it as a toggle option in the menu, I was thinking between those two, but I would like the player to still have the option to shoot, just like the old space shooter games. I need to test those options later and decide the best course of action.

congrats on submitting!

I think the art looks great! As mentioned the difficulty needs some tweaking but for a jam game it's a good game!

Developer

Thank you very much, I'll make sure to work on the difficulty later. Hope you enjoyed the game!

A small enjoyable game.

But certainly lacks a volume slider. I played to around to the 15minute mark... does it actually get harder? It feels like it takes ages now to level up and see all the different upgrades that are available.

Anyway well done on the pixel art!

Developer

It doesn't get harder yet, it should only decrease the spawn rate of the existing enemies, maybe it doesn't update correctly in the code, will have to double check later. And yes, it gets harder to level up the more levels you have, but currently the experience you gain is only that type, wich is the smallest of them, giving you 1 exp, You would get move enemies, wich would drop more experience, sadly only that type of enemy exists as of now, but I made it so that it updates the amount of exp you gain by how many minutes elapsed, but it could also not be working alongside the enemy spawns, or maybe the numbers I put on them to update to were just very small.

Thanks for the feedback, I really hope you enjoyed it!

I think this game looks quite good, but one major issue i find with it is that it's kind of too slow and the challenge does not ramp up. I got to like 4 minutes 30 seconds on the timer and it was just lacking any challenge. Maybe it could speed up slightly as time goes on or something? Either way it's a well done game and awesome work

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback, and yeah, it's very slow and easy, I did not had enough time to add more enemies, and make the game harder as it progresses, as this is my first time working in Godot, and had to basically relearn almost everything. It does spawn more enemies (I think, at least it should) when you reach the 5, 10 and 15 minute mark, but doesn't spawn different enemies and such, but if I keep working on the game, I most certainly will adjust that. Thank you again, and hope you enjoyed the game!
