Game Description
A small platformer prototype
How does your game tie into the theme?
A few platforms will 'ghost' you, but otherwise it's kind of spooky?

I like the ambient and design of the level. I also like the idea with this “interactive” light and different uses. I also enjoy games with deep focus on ambient, small discoveries here and there and having no real aim hence that was nice for me here :D
I think you should not use the Godot Icon if the rest of the Art looks nice. Somehow I was not able to have Sound/Audio (played in Edge Browser on Windows). From your credits I guess there should be some and in the Credits I had Audio. Jump with W was confusing me (Maybe thats only me but I always press Space to jump)
Thanks for playing and for the kind words! I like the open-exploring aspect as well - trying to work out the right way to add some progression to that style next.
Re: sound, my apologies - there’s no sound or music in the game yet. The Credits and pause/death screens were reused from the godot addons I’m building up for rapid-prototyping, but I didn’t get to adding new sounds to the game itself.
Agreed on ‘w’ to jump - I’ll definitely be moving this to a different key, especially to let the player control the flashlight more directly (hold up to point it up, etc).
The light caught my eye, but I agree that having the Godot logo is somewhat off-putting when everything else looks so nice. The controls felt pretty good, so overall I'd say it's a very promising prototype!
Thanks for playing and for the kind words!
Nice job! I thought the art was nice. I enjoyed knocking out the Goomba things. :) Would have loved to have an end goal.
Thanks for playing and the kind words! Those goombas are fun to knock about, aren’t they? :D
The concept itself is really good, art and the lighting also pretty amazing.
I think the jump height should be controllable
Nice game though!
Thanks for playing! Good thought, I will likely move to a hold-to-add-jump-height control style to support low and high jumps.
I really like the ambience and the visuals, great job! Making a game on your own in a jam context is a tough job, I’m really impressed!
I would love to see a concept like this polished outside of a game jam. I think most of the flaws comes from the lack of time and it’s totally normal!
Anyway, congrats overall! :)
Thanks for playing, and for the kind words!
first of all, your game is really good, and the controls feel responsive, they were many original ideas in it, like the way of fighting the enemies, the lighting, the ambience, etc... but at the same time they were also a lot of weird things that just take you out instantly of the immersion, like the Godot icon in the middle of the levels that represent the ghosts, the fact that when you get out of a door it doesn't take you to the other side it just reloads the level, but I know that you like us didn't have much time, that's why I implore you, keep working on the game, it has a strong abience, a 10/10 lightning effect, and overhaul, strong potential, maybe like an immersive story-driven 2D pixel art horror game with like maybe and an open ending that would be also great, but that's just my opinion, overhaul 7.5/10
Thanks so much! I appreciate all you said - definitely agree on the issues you pointed out.
Thanks for the compliment on the lighting - I’m really not sure if it’s too much or not, so your feedback means alot.
I feel like I arrived at some nice pieces of a game during the jam, I now need to step back and figure out what to do with them. I definitely want to write a story of some kind - I hadn’t thought to reach for horror, but now it seems quite obvious!
