Game Description
Activate pressure plates with right ammount of load. Don't let the spider catch you.
How does your game tie into the theme?
Overload as weight load. Pressure plates register player, spider and cubes weight. Carrying a cube overloads player and slows down, depending on cube weight.

As a person without arachnophobia i found some of the spiders legit scary ! Sometimes found the balance a bit to harsh, but overall it's a great project !
And i was worried people wold find the spider animation funny :)
Thank you!
Love the atmosphere of the game and the concept, but i found it a bit too difficult. Great game overall
Yeah. It is objectivly too difficult. Glad you liked it still!
I like a lot about it, but I'm not sure about mixing a puzzle game with such lethal enemies..
I feel like it might be better if the player could take more hits without losing the game.
Great art and lighting though! Nice spiders for sure! They were legit-scary.
Thank you!
Actualy. After all the feedback we got. I was thinking about mixing in some safe zones, where player can rest from constant spider attacks.
It's a nice puzzle game. I like the first few rooms that perfectly explain what to do and that we sometimes need to use the spider's weight. It's a little too hard sometimes, and it would be good to have some way to regenerate health to avoid dying so fast. Overall, it's a good game.
Thank you!
It is pretty blunt in enemy behavior and level design, hence the harsh difficulty.
This is a game where you run away from a spider which can vent to stay on your tail. Put dice, yourself, and the spider on pressure plates in order to pass through gates.
With no reprieve from the spider (other than taking a hit), I found myself exhausted without even being stressed.
I've also seen another commenter mention how the pressure plates sit above the character model, and that's just a symptom of z-index mistakes. The floor probably should be sitting the lowest on the z-index while the pressure plate sits on that same index +1. Everything else looks correct.
Nevertheless, you performed well as a solo newcomer, and you will grow as you continue to jam.
Ain't my first rodeo. And i wasn't solo. Thank you for kind words, anyways))
Spider is a bit relentless. Should've given it some inderect attack tasks as well. Like setting a web or something.
As of pressure plates. It is z index. We messed it up while doing last minute (literaly) commits in git. And realised the problem several minutes past deadline. Since it's not a game breaking bug, we decided it would be fair to keep it in a spirit of the gamejam.
This game has very nice and simple mechanics, and in the same time it combines puzzle and horror genre. Very good job
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Great game I love how are games are both about a goblin. This has better puzzle concept to it though!
Goblin power!
Interesting concept and cool aesthetic! The shadows and music make the game really creepy even though it's minimalist pixel graphics. Nice job on that.
It was not immediately apparent that the boxes were interactable, since they cast such harsh shadows I assumed they were solid pillars. There were also some actual pillars the same 1x1 size that looks visually identical, so I was running around trying to figure out what was a pillar as opposed to the box I needed to unlock the doors.
I got to level 2 and there was a visual glitch with the weight plate being rendered on the top layer (above the player and spider, but below the boxes), so I accidentally got stuck between the boxes and couldn't see my character, making me an easy prey for the spider with no where to run :( I thought I was gonna win that time cus I still had 3 hearts after I collected the boxes. Requiring the spiders as the final trigger for the doors was really dangerous with how fast they moved. If I had a way to freeze the spider in place temporarily, that would have been a much more fair fight!
Nice execution on the concept though! I enjoyed the game although I wasn't able to beat it. Great work on the fog of war effect!
As i was uploading "final" build, literaly minute before deadline, i hear my frend facepalming...
So yeah)) Preasure plates are on top of everything on 2 and 3 level.
Thank you for playing and leaving insightfull feedback!
Nice game! For me it was a little too hard to navigate in the dungeon without a map (maybe add it with a fog of war?), especially when it (dungeon) becoming really big. And I feel unfair, that spiders always run towards me, even though I can't see them, it make me easy prey for them ;(
Your truth! We should've added a map of some sort. Thank you for playing! :)
