As others have said, this was surprisingly fun for how simple it is, but it also pretty brutal for sending you back to level 1 after a single failure. That said, you definitely hit on something that works here, so nice job!

Thank you for the feedback and taking the time to play!

Congrats on your first jam! No small feat! Seems well made and bug free. Hope you continue the journey.

Developer

Thank you! :D

for a first jam this was amazing i loved the gameplay just more visuals and u have a very original game to be played on mobile for example

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I never thought about mobile but I might give it a try and see how it works in Godot

Congrats on your first GWJ! The mechanics were fun! I enjoyed being able to dash through enemies. I think I got to level 6 or so before I died. I would have liked to keep trying the current level rather than going back to the first level.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah I think I'll make it easier to replay a level when you die - it is a bit harsh atm

That's a surprisingly effective core mechanic. Nice job.

Thank you! I loved the aesthetic of your game btw.

Hey nice job! I only managed to beat level 6 it's certainly a skill issue. I think what the game could use is a few extra lives. Even if I just had 3 chances total to get as far as I could, it would make the game a little more forgiving. One mistake sends you back to the beginning, so that can be frustrating for a player. I also noticed that your blue circle was jittering around the target location, I'd guess because it was bouncing back and forth across the target position without ever reaching it. I recently learned about the "move_toward" function, which allows you to pass in the target location and the rate at which the position (or single number) should be adjusted toward that position. What makes it so useful is that once the position reaches the target, it will be exactly at that place, so you won't get jittering and you can check more easily if it has reached the target position.

Great job, congratulations on competing in your first jam! Hope to see you again in the next one!

Developer

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and provide feedback! I'll take a look at the move_toward function.

Cool. I only managed to level 8.

Developer

Nice one! I never got past level 8 either :D

I really really enjoyed this!! Very simple but challenging game I'm proud to say that I've tried hard and made it to level 8 (before losing bad again).
I think the only thing that miss here is something to tell the player the dash is available again, a blink would be enough.
I really appriciated the "highest level complete". I had to improve my previous record of 6 and after a dozen of try I finally did it! :)
Solid game base here, quite fun and lot of room for adding new mechanics. Good job.

Tell me, It is an endless game or there is a number of levels that I need to complete to beat the game?

Developer

Thanks for playing! The feedback is a great confidence boost. Nice job on reaching level 8, I never made it past that either.

I did want to add some sort of dash indicator but decided to work on the level saving instead as I was running out of time but I totally agree its quite confusing and hard to tell when its off CD otherwise.

It is an endless game so you didn't miss any hidden content. The number of white circles will just keep increasing each level ... probably until the screen fills up and you can't move anymore :D
