Very faithful recreation of Dr Mario. Super polished too. Well done.

Developer

Thank you! :)

Cool game :)

A fun revival of a classic :). Good job!

Really enjoyed the vibe of this game! Thanks for making it.

Developer

Thanks for playing it! :D

Great nostalgic trip. Especially like the music, def was jamming out.

Developer

Thanks! Forcy did all the music and sound and he killed it. 🎶

Cool game! Nice old school vibe, I particularly enjoyed the music! Solid work all around and really cool to have a leaderboard (which I didn't get anywhere near), nice one!

Very solid falling block puzzle, I found the controls worked really well and the aspect of physics to one piece falling, etc was a good addition. The silliness switch is great too. The one thing I would suggest is having a way to quit to the menu while playing rather than only quitting the full game. Would make it easier to try normal and then try the silly mode without having to reload the page. That's a very minor thing though and would be less noticeable outside of a jam where you want to see all the features for rating.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I agree I should have had that especially since the quit button don’t work in the context of a web browser. 🤦🏻

Fun game. I liked the silliness switch and the music. Well done.

Solid game and the inspiration from Dr. Mario a nice touch.

I love the music and the artstyle is perfect for the game, also some love for the programmers, the game didn't have huge bugs, just small ones but only because I tried to break it :D

Developer(+1)

haha thank you! The piece movement ended up being so much harder than expected and I’ve seen a few edge cases still where not all pieces will clear, and I think you can rotate the piece through the bottom of the gameboard.

Thanks for the kind words!

Submitted

Yeah, to me a piece exited through the left wall when I tried to rotate the piece (in vertical) and the piece was between the wall and a parasite, nothing gamebreaking luckily

Very strong submission to the jam. This could be released as a retail game almost as it is and I wouldn't bat an eye. You guys should be seriously proud of what you accomplished during the limited amount of time! (PS the silly switch was indeed silly)

The music slaps! It did not get old during my maybe 15-20 mins of play. The beginning of the gameplay track always felt fresh. Great game overall!

Submitted(+1)

Solid game! Liked the actual ‘silliness’ switch. The art and music really worked well together!

Submitted(+1)

Sees a "silliness switch" option. "Well, of course i need to toggle that on". Expects googily eyes, but didn't expect the music to change as well! Nice touch!
I also liked the retro Dr. Mario feel! Art and music both fit the style well! Can see this being a time-blackhole.

Developer

haha! Thank you! We got the silly switch added in the last hour before the deadline because our awesome artist cranked out a clown Dr. Parasite in like 10 minutes. And our sound engineer was like “oh hey, pitch shift is a thing”

Nice work!  Very polished with a great throwback aesthetic.

I've played loads of games like this in the past and I was very happy to have a nostalgic moment playing this one.

Everything worked nicely together, sounds, graphics etc are perfect for the genre.

Great second entry for GWJ :)

Great game! I had to pull myself away after a few levels, otherwise I would have been playing for hours!

Developer

Thank you! That’s very nice to say! :)

Submitted(+2)

Oddly addicting! The Music is a bop too. Well done

Developer(+2)

I'm getting punted down the leaderboard on my own game! Good job everyone. :D

Submitted(+3)

I loved the music! The art is so funny too :)
Great job!

Developer

thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it :D

Very well put together game! Love the feel of the game, great music and sound effects. Ran into a few minor bugs such as cleared parasites still being visible, and sometimes odd things would happen when rotating near placed blocks, but had fun playing. Made it to level six, great job!

Developer

yeah I did my best here. The piece movement ended up being way more complex than I expected  and there are still a few weird cases. Level 6 is pretty good!
