I didn't know the jam had comments; maybe a bit late but I liked reading all them! I'm glad you liked the game I'm trying to make a steam release!

Really cool project! Congrats on your first GWJ! I made it to round 31 and then it seemed nothing happened after that. This was a really unique entry and I really enjoyed building my swarm!

Developer

I had a hard time figuring out how to make a infinite wave system. Behind the scenes it was really just held up by duct tape!

Really cool game! Didn't really feel like I could lose, but I had a lot of fun controlling the swarm. I also had some lag, but stuck with it for the fun of it and totally annihilated the boss. Nice one!

Developer

The swarm was my favorite part of prototyping! I've never made a wave system before so the difficulty curve was a "bit" off.

This game is really fun. I had performace issues in wave 18. Sound and visuals are both great. Maybe if you continue to work on this game further, the army could get some extra attacks to make it more engaging (like powerups of some sorts?...) But overall really cool concept with the growing army and the different enemies.

Developer

when prototyping I never ran my game on the web so it was really hard to tell hopefully the steam release has better performance I'm also working on a upgrade tree and different parasites with other abilities and a lot more enemies!

I like it. Start to Lag when playing in browser at level 15 >

Developer

Glad you liked it their will be more. Also I'm bad at optimizing didn't know Godot had a profiler until a couple of days ago so I've hopefully gotten better

Really enjoyed playing this.

Being able to drag the mouse instead of clicking would be nice to have.

Having an overview of what my current creature stats are would be welcome, to better decide on the next upgrade.

It did start to lag a lot when armies started to cover about 20% of the screen.

No enemies seem to spawn on wave 31, and the game doesn’t continue: image.png

turns out wave systems are HARD to get right! I was trying to have creature states for every parasite but I now realize their all the same so I could just have one for the entire swarm!

I love how satisfying it was moving the little army I created :D

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! more coming don't know when so i'm not saying soon

Probably my favourite game of the jam so far, it was pretty easy but it was just fun watching my little dudes destroy everything!! Congrats on your first GWJ and on making a great game!

Developer

I'm happy people liked it , it was my first so i was kinda nervous about the feedback. the wave system and difficulty system needs a bit "work" and prototyping was awesome I didn't realize how satisfying the game is when I started this project and thanks for the feedback!
