Game Description
The Canterberry Tales is a narrative game about exploring a medieval land of bards and berries across storybook levels, taking on the role of a feudal fruit and discovering what awaits you. It is our first game and we hope you enjoy it!

How does your game tie into the theme?
When we saw the theme, we quickly honed in on the importance of storytelling to folklore and decided we wanted to channel a classic story about spinning tales. From there, the game designed itself! (with lots of help from us)

I really enjoyed the game and storytelling, really great job! The one thing is that forest layout felt kinda confusing. And lack of background music. Other than that, really good job.

Developer

We were going for a bit of a 'Lost Woods' vibe in the forest, though I think we could make it a bit more clear which areas are accessible and which are not. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

Very charming! I love the art style!! The game fit the theme very well, and I enjoyed the multiple playable characters & storylines. Great job!!

Thank you so much! Amy (@merunicorn) is our wonderful artist and she did an amazing job. We're glad you enjoyed it!

Had a lot of fun with this one! Really great artstyle, some awesome touches like the areas you pass through several times, and I particularly enjoyed the paintings in the castle. The writing was excellent too and kept me invested even if audio was a bit lacking. Unfortunately, I think I may have had some conversations not progressing properly and feel like I didn't get to see everything even if I did "help out" the king. Really nice job overall though!

Hey there!  We haven't found any dialogue bugs yet though if anyone finds some specifics please let us know! If you end up giving it another go, check out the campfire area after talking to the princess in the castle or the messenger on the boat (and maybe try pressing 'Q'). Thanks a ton for playing and for sharing feedback - we can't wait to try your game too!

Yep, that was totally on me! 😅 Shouldve read the instructions properly.  Again, awesome job! 😁

Absolutely loved the artstyle of the game, but it definitely needed some music.

Developer

All credits for art go to @merunicorn - she killed it!

Music was a stretch goal for us that didn't quite make it, but we agree it would be a great add.

Thanks for playing!
