Nice, really interesting control scheme, and a great idea to interpret into a game. Unfortunately I couldn't really figure out how to kill the hunters without them shooting me
From behind! Also you dont have to approach them walking, when you get close enough your attack causes a dash
Thanks for playing!
The game idea is pretty nice, but I couldn't get the hunters more than confused for 1-2 seconds. Maybe its because I expected them to follow me, though. I think the issue might be the necessary setup for this to work: the hunters go to where you come from, but since you need to attack in close range, you actually need to bypass them, but they see you pretty fast, and also your footprints vanish as well.
This is still a cool concept for a game, though, and you've managed to get a lot done! Good job
I had personal issues on last weekend and couldnt work on balancing those details, unfortunately. Its more broken than you think haha but thanks for playing!
The “?” sign shows for a fixed time just to let you know the footprints were spotted. I should add an explanation to the page…
I was hoping there'd be some sort of gameplay mechanic where you use your footprints to lure the hunters into a trap, but try as I might, I couldn't get it to work - I found it easier to just sneak up on them from behind and slash them to bits. Still, a cool concept, and the control scheme works really well!
That was the intended use for the footprints. Hunters will follow them in visual direction, going to where you actually came from. So it wasnt working?
