thank you! dont worry about the difficulty, the game was accidentally really hard
Pixel art shooter😊!
GAMEPLAY
A bit difficult, you sometimes get shot without knowing an enemy is near and also a lot of enemies sometimes. Liked the universe changing. Could not see my health but I grappled all health bonusses that i could find😊! Maybe some UI would be helpful in a future update. Read it was skipped because of time issues. Would be useful to know were to go and see your stats. Bit frantic but was fun to play.
GRAPHICS/ART
From black and white pixel art to a bit more modern. There was a lot of black space that maybe can be filled in a newer version/
AUDIO
The 8-bit like track fitted well with the visual style. Maybe a bit more variation would be nice polish. The changing from battle to normal is fun
THEME
Alternate reality is checked with the dimensions but missing a bit the Time of Power part.
Overall nice entry for the jam. Good job💪!
Thank you! it's very nice to hear :)
The gameplay was a bit unfair, ennemies shoot you when they are not on the screen :( I liked a lot the universes switching! The paper one was my favorite!
I'm glad you enjoyed the paper universe! I do agree the enemies are unfair, and unfortunatelly now with hinsdight, I have a great fix for them... I'll remember it for the future :)
This is pretty awesome! Loved the changing dimensions where the art gradually got better, that's an insane amount done for just over a week of game jamming! Music was solid too and the game play was good, although a bit fast paced sometimes - although that did match the music of course!
I like to give some general feedback for each game I play, so here goes:
Anyway, awesome game, that's an insane amount of work for the week!
I've taken a quick video while playing the game, hopefully you can find use for it :)
Thank you! its really nice to hear :) about the health UI it got kinda screwed so I just remoeved it entirely which was a mistake according to the comments... I'll invest more time in learning about UI for my future projects.
The game was challenging, things happened too quickly, but I managed to defeat the boss.
Loved how the graphics changed as I progressed, that must have been difficult to create.
Just needed a bit more polishment overall.
Anyways, great entry!
(the Gaster Blaster wand was awesome)
the gaster blaster is probably the best part of the game haha
I wanted to like this one. But the music was super annoying. Just too harsh. Also wish there was UI to track health. I felt like I died really really fast with no context.
Also I totally got lost in the blackness. An indicator in the future would be nice :)
unfortunately I cut out the UI and had no time to improve it... might be a hint to start learning about UI more :]
tbh its a very nice looking game I like this kind of art style but whenever I start the game I instantly die like I have no time to kill the foes maybe I am just bad but ye its a nice looking game
I'm glad you liked the game's art! about dying in the beginnig I think it might be a bug...
ye probably like the mobs are hella fast but I really like the art
btw could u try my game aswell bc no one seemed to download it since the jam ended. its a bad game but its an experience for me:)
sure ill check it out!
The projectiles are way too fast, and you don't see how much health you have.
The story could have been introduced in-game.
The hand drawn art kind of threw me off, but I get what the appeal is. If it had been executed a bit better, it would have turned out great I think.
yeah, unfortunately a lot of the games systems/Ideas were cut out due to the lack of time...
